Changes At 96.9 In A Few Days ?

C

Casablanca

Guest
According to Michael Graham Crackers there will be major changes at 96.9 in the next few days. Does thay mean the station will be adding sour milk to its Graham Cracker mix ....aka Carr & Crackers

The only sour around here is a certain sourpuss who's jealous of Howie for movin' on up the dial. Hopefully
he'll get at least some of those incentives because the more HC makes, the more it makes his detractors...

...as Jerry used to say...

ANNOYED ... :)

There's already been one change with the addition of Hendrie. Now hopefully the announcement will
come that the legal crap is over with and we can have a firm date for Howie's first show. He continues
to hint about it on his own show--yesterday he urged his (assistant) producer to not play a certain sound cut and added, "you know, not _everybody_ will be coming with me..." (to his new radio home). At which point
we heard the elephant sound effect. Someone called in and apparently they bleeped what she said--
apparently, it was something like "I'll follow you to your new station". Howie was a bit peeved that the
board op/prod. had to bleep it out but we know that other than vague hints, they can't allow any talk
about Howie's move on the show.

Wolfie and Kaaaaaaaaaaaahn!* probably will keep this up, to the point where Howie will do a last show
next Wed but won't be allowed, except maybe in a very vague reference, to say it's his last show,
and eventually we'll find out when his first show from Morrissey Blvd. takes place (it was said to be Oct. 1).
We know it won't be immediate--Howie will need to do some "practice shows" to get used to his new
setup.

*--reference to Star Trek: Wrath of Khan

Khan: I've done far worse than kill you, Admiral. I've hurt you. And I wish to go on hurting you. I shall leave you as you left me, as you left her: marooned for all eternity in the center of a dead planet, buried alive. Buried alive.
Kirk: KHAAANNNN.

Speaking of movies--and this is a heads up to Casa, who likes to call in when the Movie Panel is
on, the next TV and movie panels on WBZ's Jordan Rich show will take place on the following
dates. Featuring my friend Frank Ochieng plus Garry & Marilyn Armstrong

Saturday, September 22, 2007 from 12 AM to 3:30 AM
"The TV Night Show"

Saturday, October 20, 2007 from 12 AM to 3:30 AM
"The Movie Night Show"

another hint by Howie:
"there will be more about (Deval's 9/11 statement) from a writer
in my own paper, someone I'll soon be talking to every
day, I'll leave it at that" (hint, hint--WTKK's Michael Graham)

Another good reason to take WTKK 96.9 off my pre-programmed dial on the BEEMER.

As Bush's WAR rants on and more American soldiers die for a cause that Genral Betrayus can not define or explain let's turn WTKK into another Right Wing Desparation Station.

Progressive talk should be thriving here and now but it's off the air. Conservative talk IS popular and
should either Her Highness or Barry Osama get elected, it will be even more popular.
WTKK will be home to my three favorite talk shows: Howie, Laura, and Phil Hendrie. As Laura's new
book puts it, Power to the People!

I can see you goose stepping already.

Goose stepping. Oh nice. Comparing me to the leaders of the Holocaust? Your weak argument gets
ever weaker. Just go to your "9/11 truth" meeting while I ignore you. Most popular shows are
conservative. They make money. They have listeners, including people who tune in just to get mad
and say "look what so-and-so said now!"

Mixing radio and the finest of the Star Trek movie franchise -- excellent.

I see you've paid your MoveOn.Org annual membership fee.

Would you prefer to be called a "Kool-Aid" drinker? ;)

Pete Gustin of WEEI thought of it first, in a recorded piece about the D&C absence.
It ended with Shatner as Kirk yelling "Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!" (as in, Julie Kahn--
I know, diff. spelling, but sounds the same.)

I've got an imaginary dollar that says Howie does not start at WTKK until January, if at all. Remember that he is not yet legally permitted to sign a contract. Greater Media's public grandstanding is simply their MO - their mornings are in the toilet anyway so they have little to lose. After so many spikings of the ball on the five yard line (see the Red Sox as the most public example), their credibility is strained, to say the least.

They already set up an office for him? No big deal - they were hiring salespeople to sell the Sox too. They have taken numerous other rumors to the street as fact only to see them blow up as well. When I tune in to 96.9 one morning and hear Howie, that's when I'll believe it.

Some folks never know how fortunate they are. Here this individual is able to recieve WTKK 96.9 on his BEEMER radio and he is going to take it off the pre-programmed dial (sure he will), till Howie is on.
Now, those of us in the far western states are unable to recieve WTKK 96.9 FM on our FORD 350 PowerStroke Diesel radios
so we will choose to listen on the computer.

Casa won't take WTKK off his pre-sets. He listens to Severin, waiting for him to say something outrageous
so he can talk about it on this board. E&B and Graham, too.

it is hard to listen to Severin and Carr.

Todd Feinburg is the worst. Maybe 96.9 should hire Feinburg - as janitor.

Feinburg a bit too laid back...OK for a short while if the topic is interesting but he wouldn't be a good
longtime fix for afternoons if the lawyers are unable to block Howie's move. As much as they'd dread
going to syndie, it would make some sense to swipe Hannity from WTTT--but again they really need
to be local.
Still I could see them putting Todd on 3-7 for now and maybe pick up Beck (or even Dennis Miller)
for 10-noon.

Herald article (see sep. thread) saying that Howie intends to start on 'TKK next Thu but lawyers could
well block that.

And your point is ?????????

[EDIT]Casa, only a racist would think that drinking Kool-Aid is a bad thing. So now we see where you're coming from. Why is a bleeding heart liberal driving a BEEMER? Should you not be supporting your union brothers and drive a nice Chevy or maybe a Buick? Then maybe you can swing the $13 a month and get XM and hear all the liberal talk you want on XM 167.

Mule
