Changes at 'CTK

I've had the last couple of days off so I haven't woken up to them, but Tad & Chris were on Monday & Tuesday. I checked the website because of your post & Tad's off it. It won't change my listening habits but I AM NOT A HAPPY CAMPER like that will matter. He just became the PD for God's sake! He's been there over 10 years. Unless he moved on to bigger & better things, work the problem out. I've seen it happen before, not that I'm assuming this was the case, but a perfectly good relationship goes south when a jock takes over programming at a station where he's already at. But I'm jumping to conclusions here. This is absolutely awful news. AWFUL. I'm so fed up with some of what goes on in radio that I'd like to get back in just so I can make a statement by getting out again.

Ha! Good one! That's the funniest thing I've heard all day!

Where's Tad? He's not on the website. I like Chris, but I think that WCTK's few days at number 1 in Providence are over!

Ok... who wants to spill it?

So Lovefist you've had all weekend to find out.Any beans spilled?I don't listen to the station other than to see what's going on here there and everywhere and thought for sure I would hear Robby Bridges on this morning but co-host Chris is flying solo_Once it sinks in that Tad Lemire is gone I'm sure those phones will be lit with questions.

Robby Bridges co-hosted the morning show with Chris Whitten on Friday. Perhaps it's a sign of things to come...

Robby was back on this afternoon and Chris was alone this morning. Chris just cannot carry the show by himself.

The days of anyone carrying a morning show solo are gone. Chris has to be cut some slack since anyone doing a solo morning show is up against it, & besides the demands of the show itself I'm sure there's a psychological factor at work here. Robby did it Monday with midday guy Adam Scott but Chris is the one logical person to hold down the fort since the audience is familiar with him. Chris is doing fine & there's a comfort level waking up to him. I am very upset by this. Very upset! If there's some unusual drama behind this I don't want to know about it. If it's a matter of Tad being let go or being allowed to resign over programming differences then WCTK is showing him disrespect by allowing it to happen. This is not the kind of station where it should happen. Tad has been with WCTK too long to disappear off the face of the earth like this & he's been with Hall Communications even longer. And please don't anyone tell me that's the way it goes in radio as I'm well aware of how things go in radio, trust me. If there's any possibility that Tad's leaving isn't final then this BS needs to be resolved now. I won't stop listening so I'm not going to play that immature card, but this cat has been declawed.

Chris mentioned Tad's leaving this morning so it looks like this deal is done. Strangely, he didn't refer to Tad by name but just as a member of the family at WCTK. He mentioned something to the effect of him leaving to explore the world & that hopefully another person would join the show along with guest hosts. Since I doubt that "explore the world" means he's going to trek through the Amazon Jungle I'll assume it means other job opps or another career direction. I don't feel it's anyone's business as to the reasons behind all this, but I'm glad it was mentioned to clear the air & finalize it. Doesn't sit right with me...too sudden & too soon after his promotion, but it is what it is. I'm a listener & still will be.

Guest hosts coming in. Can only go so far. Chris does a great job.But WCTK
needs an established personality from this market. To fill the void. And
with the recognition that Big John Bina has. He would make an excellent choice.
