Allaccess.com reporting tonight that Chuck Stevens is out as PD and PM Drive at JOY. What's the story? Anybody heard anything?
 
Chuck's bio is still on the website, although the on-air schedule is 404. Wonder who's doing PM drive?
 
Why is Chuck gone? Joy is coming off a great spring ratings period. Not the time to be firing the PD, especially someone from the area. This move makes no sense!
 
Heard Jack PD Joe Russo doing PM drive yesterday on Joy. Stevens' firing could have been a budget issue. Strange coming when it did. Tuesday? In my business, people get pink-slipped on Monday or Friday. "Hey, how was your weekend? We're gonna give you a little more time off... buh-bye."
 
Well, radio IS a business before it can be anything else! :)
I'm guessing it's correct that budgets got tight and cuts had to be made somewhere.
