Changes at KBKS

Have you noticed KBKS moving more toward KUBE? The gap
between the two stations has grown even wider and in recent
trends KUBE, KNDD and KMPS are all beating KBKS 18-34. It appears
that KLSY has the pop end covered playing Mariah Carey, Rob
Thomas, Kelly Clarkson, Simple Plan, Weezer, Bowling For Soup
and so on. KUBE has the rhythmic side of things covered and KNDD
has the alternative. Leaves KBKS stuck. I think going after KUBE
makes sense. KBKS needs to get rid of Papa Roach, Weezer, and Staind.
Let KLSY and KNDD battle that out. Go more pop and rhythmic. KISS
in LA did, KDWB did and look at the success. My bet is KBKS is
transitioning to war with KUBE. If the KBKS morning show quit trying to be
funny and played more music they might hurt T-Man, who beats them 2-1. WOuld love to see KBKS give KUBE more of a run for the ratings. Thoughts?

What the hell is John Tesh doing in Hurricane Country filing reports for
CBS? Who cares what he thinks. His radio show is the worst.

Amen Brother! Give KUBE a run for their money. Before Mr. SHorts
Mark Kaye allowed his MIX PD to kick some butt, KBKS could try and
be pop,hip hop, rap and even a little HOT/AC. Now MIX has the pop
and HOT/AC covered. Preston needs to chase the big DOG: KUBE. The
other option is to chase KMPS, but they is in the same building, so
County KISS ain't gonna fly. KISS must shut up J@B and go after KUBE.

WOnder if Pat Cashman will land somewhere after the success of the Almost
Live Reunion on TV? Miss that guy on the air. Agreed on Tesh...what is
that all about. Saw a trade ad that his Seattle ratings are up 100%..how?

What ever happened to all those reports of a new country comin on in Seattle?
Where the hell is inknowitall when ya need him.

LATer...

Please tell us; what color is the sky in your world?

My guess is Brown, since that's what Billy saw a lot of when reviewed KLSY's last book.

I thought KLSY was on the right track for a while there. They were playing some good new music, then all of a sudden it seemed to stop. If they were to continue in the direction of more new pop music I really think that they could take over most of KISS's upper demo and make some waves. This market needs an adult top 40 way more than another hot AC.

Tesh is CONTRIBUTING to relief effeorts... creating awareness, and getting knee deep in the relief... I think the guy should be commended for doing it. He made reports from the hurricane zone available to his affiliates, non-affiliates, as well as other media outlets.

You may not like his show... BUT... if you look at ratings and trends... his LISTENERS would beg to differ with your opinion....

Love him or hate him... he's pulling in numbers, and his are continuing to increase... which is more than some others can say

Tsk tsk - be nice, Kelly - things may be going well now, but you know what they say about people in glass houses and stones...or is that crystal palaces?

We've been all BSed by those who kept on saying that a new country station
was coming on the air in the Seattle market. Personally, I don't care much for
country, but would like to see someone take on KMPS. Come on someone! Knock KMPS
down a few notches!! When it comes to the frequency to change, why not 100.7 KQBZ. I really think that talk should be on AM. What a waste of an FM signal.
(I know that their audio sucks, but that can be fixed!) Move the Buzz to 770AM
'cause what are they (KTTH)going to do when Medved leaves for KKOL 1300 (pending
their signal up grade). Hush Bimbo can't keep KTTH alive by himself, and Savage's sindicator has an agreement with salem, so by by Savage. (Speaking of Hush Bimbo, I'm surprized that clear channel hasn't put him on KJR-AM. They did it with their stations in Spokane and Portland.)
