Changes at KDGE

I wonder which syndicated show will be piped in soon..?

Reports are Kade moved to mornings with Angela Chase from KEGL. I like Chase. Kade is an amalgamation of the worst parts of Radio. Plus the fact that he's based out of LA, VT's AND still manages to play back his audio for LA on KDGE accidentally.

Alright, JR. Now, sir, I KNOW the content that airs in LA NEVER airs in Dallas ever. I listen to my breaks multiple times before they air. Always have, always will.

I never claimed to be perfect. I know I am far from it. I am, however, a person in the KDGE demographic who lives & breathes the format & it's music. An individual with a unique point of view & mind, but definitely not perfect. THAT, my friend, is what Alternative music is all about. Just being ourselves and rebelling against people like you who try to tear us down with your senseless criticism. I am grateful to have this gig, also EXTREMELY happy & proud to be on the air in one of my favorite markets; Dallas/Ft. Worth. I will make the best of this opportunity on KDGE, and along with Angela, will make it our own & leave a mark.

Hope you eventually find the happiness you seek in life, which obviously isn't on this board full of bitter ex-radio people. Peace! ;)

Coming from someone within the KDGE demo, who appreciates most of their music, who has listened to the station since it's infancy, and from someone who never has and never will work in radio, I recommend toning down the 'tude, dude. It's a bit offputting on air.

Dude, I wish you all the best. I grew up on KDGE, the station has a big place in my heart, and I want it to win. Trust me, I wish our industry had a more lively convergence of Radio News and commentary. But this is the place we have, and I like live/local radio shows. I have no doubt you work hard, but I've heard you solicit tune ins on 98.7 LA on the KDGE singal. Best of luck.

I also grew up listening to KDGE, was on-air there for 6 yrs, and can say it is a shell (if that) of it's former self. The turnover rate is stupid. The jocks of last decade (Josh, Ayo, Merritt) have more talent and music knowledge than anyone up there now...sans Jeff K. KDGE used to have personality, segments, and live broadcasts that drew listeners in and kept them tuned in. Sadly, KDGE is turning into a CHR/alt hybrid thing that has no identity any longer. I've yet to talk to anyone that mentions even a whiff of the talent on air at KDGE...maybe the music...but not the talent. I would really like to know how Jessie has stayed so long. Now that is impressive.

CC seems to grab anyone around the building these days to fill on-air shifts (get off the high horse) while they get rid of specialty programming that many 'edgeheads' used to look forward to listening to. You get what you pay for.

I also noticed that earlier today "The Edge" has added Bob Marley & The Wailers to the rotation.

I like it! Nothing wrong with a splash of reggae mon!

Since KDGE dropped Old School Edge, Edgeclub, and The Adventure Club, I haven't listened. I switched to Indie-Verse, 101x and KROQ and haven't looked back since. The KDGE of my youth is gone, replaced by bad on-air talent and even worse rotations. If Kade is supposedly the morning savior for this station, I can only imagine who/what his replacement will be when the station flips formats within the next 12 months.

I don't think there will be a flip in formats Chill. They have not removed the adventure club and have reinstated the 4 o'clock flashback a few weeks after was dropped due to popular demand :)

What is going on at the edge? Does anyone really know? now bobby has been let go or left. I am wondering if someone at clear channel is running people off at the EDGE?

I liked the Edge better when it was on 94-5. Better signal. 102-1 doesn't even get into Waco, while the other towers on the same patch of land do. Can't make sense of that.

Heard Kade mention today that he was going to a Chili Peppers show in California while intro'ing Aeroplane. Way to play to the DFW audience...He also referred to the "Navarro Era" as "underrated." Bleh.
