New to the board. Happy Holidays to all this season. Clearchannel rumor mill says Jackie and Bender next to be canned from CBS. In the coming months, clearchannel docket goes as follows on Kiss FM in Seattle: Johnjay and Rich mornings and Kraddick has been discussed. Ryan Seacrest in at mid-days. They will probably keep afternoons live but crank up music and possibly voicetrack night show. I feel bad for my friends at Kiss but that is from a VERY reliable clearchannel bug.

A secret kept almost as badly as the plans for KIRO to flip all-sports. KBKS will be nothing more than a flanker to KUBE and an outlet for CC to clear national shows. Sad.

Interesting post FTF but pretty much everyone knows that is what's comin down the question is when ??? Do the ole boys at CC take over with an LMA in January or do they wait around ??? I can say that JJR show will not be flanker and could give the T-Man a run for his money ;D

Why would a company put on a morning show to cannibalize a sister station? The answer? They won't.

Syndicated shows have never been ratings winners in this market (except for Stern but that's an empire onto itself) and JJR will barely make a dent in the T-man's numbers.

This is correct. In my humble view the T-Man show, provided it stays local in focus will have no problem beating whatever syndicated program is launched on KBKS, just as KUBE has had no problem outperforming the live shows currently on KBKS. The only difference is the syndicated option is much less expensive.

agree that T-Man will keepmost his numbers but clearly you boys haven't heard Johnjay and Rich. The show is all talk and aimed 18-34 with folks that got a brain 8) T-man grabs the Stern crowd. JJR grab college kids and teensand twenties JJR will generate their own audience. It is like the difference between Ichabod and Fitz. Ichabod is just as strong as before but Fitz brings a whole new younger crew to country. Same will happen in teh CHR morning cowboy battle :D Good for all.

Either CC should, go Country with KISS and beef up their numbers against the KKWF and KMPS or go Rock, but do a better job than with KFNK, they need to put a beating on KISW

Not a chance. CC has multiple markets with two CHR stations and needs a place for their syndication. This marriage of KUBE and KISS fits the bill. With zero cost of operation KBKS will survive and will have higher margins. The national/regional combo business for KUBE and kISS 18-34 will be huge. 25-44 adnd 25-49 women will also be huge. They can't be bought around.

Don't count J&B out just yet. Keep a small bet on them staying. (Could be totally wrong, but it is possible). Mainstream CHR has performed well in PPM and CC knows that. KUBE derives it's numbers disproportionately from ethnics and this may be in a issue in PPM, where as Kiss more closely mirrors the marketplace. J&B mornings, Seacrest, perhaps Tyler in PM, either VT nites or potentially a live night show that CC runs out of another market on the West Coast...
