Changes at KNXV-DT

They've replaced their SDTV feed with a weather and travel service called goAZ.TV, which bills itself as Arizona's first travel channel. It looks a lot like the WX feeds from KPNX and KPHO.

As for the name, the folks at AZ-TV can't be too happy about it. Especially since the "go" is in lower case and the "AZ.TV" is in uppercase and in a larger font. Could people accidentally think it's related to KAZT?

Not a bad idea from Channel 15, considering the growing population will equate to more traffic woes. I wonder how they're going to keep the traffic reports updated throughout the day though. As for weather reports, they're delivered by AccuWeather, unlike Channel 5's all-local "Weather Now" and 12's local/national "Weather Plus."

Speaking of sidebars and subchannels, I was once told by someone that KASW-DT was considering making what is now known as "SixFix" a subchannel on the station when I was trying to lobby them to add the now-defunct Tube Music Network. I don't know what they're plans are now, but I take it might be along the lines of LATV or the upcoming .2 Network.

I had the same thought when I saw the name. I don't think AZ-TV will make such a big deal over it though.
 
Tuning in goAZ.TV and it's an interesting look. I agree about how prominent AZ TV is. During the evenings (overnights?) it was mostly traffic updates in the main panel. Haven't seen it during the day yet.
