Changes at The River

I love Christian radio and as a listener I believe THE RIVER is a great sounding station and these guys are doing a great job...are they going to make everyone happy all the time...are they going to serve everyones needs every minute of every day....probably not...that organization or company DOES NOT EXIT...I always get a kick out of people like "NOTME who become a Program Director and think they know what it takes to run a successful radio station...This message to NOTME...or should we call you...ALLABOUTME..if you have all the solutions...buy your own radio station and program it the way you think it should be done. I have and am doing it today......the view from this side of the fence is a lot different...Good Luck!
Cause from the sounds of this blog...you don't have a clue...

Hey NotMe,

I will be doing a remote at the University Kroger on Olentangy River Road tomorrow(Saturday) from 10a-Noon.

Why don't you stop out and lets talk like 2 men...I'll even give you some River swag.

Jake

Sunset: I, too love Christian radio. In fact, I'm passionate about it. But, there's a huge hole in the market for a live, local Christian morning show. It sounds to me like The River has given up. If pointing that out causes you to lash out at me personally, well... so be it. Not what I'd expect from a "station owner."

Jake: Thanks for the invite, but I'll be with clients tomorrow. Maybe some other time.

Crap, I had an Scott and Sam autographed "I Love The River" t-shirt for you.

Maybe next time...

Jake

Sounds to me that “NotMe” doesn’t need to stop by Jake cause he has all the answers. Come on dude he knows Case’s motives and has even talked face to face with your boss…he is the know all and tell all about radio, specifically Christian radio! Yea the typical Monday night quarter back that knows whatever the coach did wrong and “NotMe” knows how to do it better. If I could only be like him where I’d rather listen and complain because turning it off is a “cop out”.

Well I guess I had better get out of here cause I’m going to continue to listen and support the River because I agree with Jake I have heard his calls and it sure seems to me like God is using that station to reach the lost and hurting. But then let me defer that to “NotMe” cause he KNOWS everyone’s motives and only “NotMe” could tell the group if God is actually using the station or Jake. Cause we all know God couldn’t work through a syndicated show could He “NotMe”?

Encourage the River, pray for them that God continues to bless them. All except “NotMe” cause only he knows for sure!

Jake,

I do like your show. I do listen to you when I am listening to the radio. Its nice for you to be live from Ohio!

I do like when you pray with people from Ohio. I think thats awesome.

Right now their running Scott and Sam, no one knows the River's motives.. who is to say that a month down the road they wont bring back a live local morning show? After all they did have Martha Hadley on at nights and replaced her with local voice tracking.

Kudos to the River for being a 24/7 Christian AC in this market.

btw, I heard a legal Id on 91.5 WHKC today -- at 12noon they ID'ed ontop of the song playing... I wonder if their using a CD Jukebox or something... I know when Case was running the 80s they did have automation.

Yeah. I heard a legal ID at 9:03 tonight myself.

I'm glad that they're getting legal and that someone else had noticed it, too.

Now back to your regularly scheduled flame war. ;D ;D ;D

The problem here is that virtually all the posters are thinking two-dimensionally when the situation is three-dimensional.

No one has bothered to think things through enough to see that there might be tactical reasons for what has occurred.

I'm thinking I missed out on a chance to get a Scott and Sam autographed "I Love The River" t-shirt. Darn schedule conflicts. ;) (One Dimensional thinking at it's best)

Hey Vince,

I still have it...NotMe wasn't up to talking face to face :'(

I have to get with you about VTing Star. Dana and I really want to do that. Like old times!

I worked every shift on Star except overnights.

Thanks for keeping it alive.

Jake

Hey Jake,

Looking forward to you and Dana VTing STAR. It's thanks to your help that the memory is alive and well!

Thanks for all your help

Vince
