Sounds like revenue is down. I'm sure it's down everywhere. Duh!

They should of let Larry go when Rick Stewart left. Can you say how many morning shows and formats in 2 years.Rick got busted but i forget what it was for, stealing company info or something.lol But i got to thank Rick for giving me an Otari MX5050 2 track roll around.

Might "The Wolf" be ready to be Howl-Less? Rumblings are all around the town.

Radio Star One: You know nothing. you are simply guessing. Anything could happen. It's RADIO. Having said that...

KNCI is a great competitor. 20 years heritage, excellent talent and programming.

FYI...In the past 18 mos The Wolf has gone from 23 to as high as #1 in 18-34 and 25-54 in some dayparts and weekends in various monthly trends.

I do afternoons and in the Spring book finished #5 25-54 right behind KNCI. Other dayparts are within TENTHS of KNCI in 18-34. The Wolf is on a definate upward trend. Not always consistant but we don't have the big promotional budget KNCI has or the heritage and recall. We earn every rating point through creative contesting.

Who knows what will bring, but The Wolf is Still Howling and will be for awhile. I've been in alot of big battles in big markets and i can say the Country Battle here is one of the Best!

Don't you just love how people who are clueless about what drives format decisions make something out of a management change? Corporate makes format decisions based on financial upside. KNCI bills something like $10 million a year - although probably considerably less this year. There's enormous upside potential for The Wolf making inroads to that revenue. That upside dwarfs and other upside potential for any other format that Entravision could consider.

Furthermore, you might want to look beyond The Wolf. There are 4 stations in the cluster. Perhaps, in corporate's opinion, are they underachieving in revenue?

Have a great day!

Come on guys take it easy. You should all know by now that the talent on a station is always the last to know (See the KFRC 106.9 thread on the San Francisco board) what is really going to happen. Anything management says publicly should be taken with a grain of salt. Watch your backs now! lol...Cue "Turn out the lights the parties over." Have A Nice Day!

The cutback and Entravision letting go of Mr. Larry Lemanski is not suprising.

I think that the morning show the bomb replaced Davey D with stinks, Big Boy's neighbor -hood is syndicated morning show with Big boy as host out of LA , the show is not local callers and listenrs can not call in and interact with the morning show . When the bomb had Davey D listener ship and rating were better and people could call a local show and plus the popularity and the fans Davey D has built in Sacramento was a good thing for the bomb.

So in my opinion the decision
to let Davey D go by Mr. Lemanksi and Entravision Sacramento was not a smart move and with more quiestionable moves I guess they cut Lemanski and other management.

But I am not saying I think that was the reson for his firing that would be stupid to say, I was just saying if I was Mr. Lemanski and Entravision Sacramento my 103.5 the bomb morning show would be local radio show host and all around good guy the popular Davey d would be my morning show.

but I know not just radio , but
all kinds of companies are cutitng everyone , I guess it was time up for Mr. Lemanski,

from Phillip from Galt .

OMG...The decision to cut Lemanski and Verdere have NOTHING to do with Davey D and the freaking morning show. It's simple. Entravision corporate looked at the ratings of their Sac stations vs. the revenue they were billing. And based upon their ratings, they should have billed more. End of story.

Omg Salesslap, get serious now. We're talking Phil from Galt here. I doubt he'd understand your explaination, even though you took the time to offer one. The rest of us though, maybe...

I hope they keep the Wolf staff. Although I am more of a rock and roller than a country music fan, they do a great job considering their budget versus KNCI's. Why punish a relatively successful station because of other stations in the cluster possibly underperforming?

hate to go on the same rant again, but every radio station should be judged on it's particular income and ratings and have it's budget set accordingly. That's corporate radio for ya. the corporate mentality has screwed up most business. back in the day every neighborhood had a mom and pop grocery store that catered to the neighborhood and it's customers. Now, a Raley's or other chain make decisions that is chain-wide, instead of tailoring each store to it's community.

bah! Humbug! ;)

Hafta agree with John on all counts above...

A specific strong point of KNTY, aka "Da Wolf" (I'm sorry, I'm a
more-original "call letters" kinda guy), is the chemistry of Catfish
and entertainment/traffic gal Trixie Driver in afternoon-drive...
makes for a upbeat, pleasant drive when I'm doing long-hauls
from the North Bay to Lodi and/or Sacto...
