Changes At V-103

An even bigger move regarding V-103 happened a few weeks ago. Market Manager Rick Caffey, who has been with the station for probably 30 years, moved out of the Market Manager position as Audacy eliminated that level. Stations now report to Regional VP's. Caffey was given the title of Chairman (that's a new one). His responsibilities now include advising Atlanta and helping to grow the company's Urban stations. (Not sure if that's a substantive role.)

When Entercom purchased CBS's radio stations many years ago, the company replaced most Market Managers but left Caffey in place. V-103 was (and still is) a ratings and revenue monster.

According to his posts on social media, Lil Bankhead, who was doing 7-10pm, left because of a budget cut. I thought he sounded really good and did not expect much from his successor, DJ Sturgess, who had been a producer and not an on-air talent. But DJ Sturgess sounds surprisingly good.

Actually, DJ Sturgess was on air on weekends and has fulled in for weekday talent.
