Whatever network they're using played "I'm Good (Blue)" by Bebe Rexha/David Guetta twice in 9 hours. I heard it around 1:45PM and again around 10:45PM tonight 10/18/23.
I'm not surprised. Their 97.7 signal cannot be heard in a lot of areas in Waterbury. Especially in the lower western areas of the city near the Naugatuck river. They should have put the FM stick in the city of Waterbury not on Meriden mountain. Unless your on the east side of town or higher up you cannot get a good signal.
They've had those new liners for a couple of weeks, They also have one that says "Watertown's favorite station." Kool Radio probably doesn't care. WATR and Kool Radio are not competitors. WATR plays music from the 70s through today. Kool Radio plays 60s, 70s, and 80s. WATR airs sports - High School Football and UCONN Huskies. Kool Radio doesn't air sports. The only time they are going after the same audience is pn Sundays when they're both airing Italian Programming. Both Waterbury and Southington have a large Itaian population. Also it seems that WATR has very little local advertisers. Kool Radio has more though I suspect some of the advertosers on Kool get that sstationas a bonus when they advertise on other Full Power Radio owned stations. Furthermore there's this medical group that advertises on Kool that seemingly advertises on other stations in the market including Audacy's Lite 100.5 and i-Hearts The River 105.9As of 10/31, new breakers/sweepers - eg., "Southington's Favorite Radio Station - 97.7/1320 WATR" - wonder what Southington's KoolRadio 990/96.1 thinks of that
