CHANGES AT WCKM

W

Since entertronics changed hands, there have been some changes at WCKM, subtle and not so subtile.
Lee Pecue left mid days on his own, and now the mid day guy is voice tracked, Anthony somebody. Word is they are looking to cut costs everywhere (big surprise), and the new GM is hard to get along with (another big surprise). Say what you want, when Dave Covey owned the place his motto was local and community involvment, and they were. Wonder why they haven't done anything with the nauseating morning club?? I did Hear Dan Miner by himself the other day; he did fine on his own without Cloutier slappin' him on the back.

I don't know about the other entertronics stations, any big changes there yet?? ???

WOW, I wonder who WARM590 is. Could it be the man with "The little string hanging"? Apparently you don't care much for Pete Cloutier.

Re: CHANGES AT WCKM/WKBE

According to one of the other radio boards, WCKM will be altering its format too, and ditching its remaining 60s music, in favor of 70s and 80s A/C hits. I actually believed too, that WCKM couldn't get any worse....
ALSO, the word is the The Point-100.3 WKBE is going all Xmas soon, and than flipping to A/C, after the holidays. Bland and Blander....

Croaker-
I know that you work or worked for Entertronics; for your info, I do not dislike Peter Cloutier. I have met him at remotes over the years and he seems like a cool guy. Since this board is for folks to voice their opinion, I feel that the "CKM morning club is a disaster, has been for a long time, and those 2 guys sound like they are drinking beers in a locker room someplace. Miner sounded good by himself last monday without Cloutier egging him on. Thats it, no dislike...just opinion...

More discussion??? If the shift is going away from '60's music, is Kip Grant's show in danger of being cancelled?? Great Gold Plus is one of the only shining stars that place has...Kip is a comsummate professional and the quality is always there.

Warm, I stand corrected. AND I agree with you. Kip Grant is from the OLD SCHOOL. His on air work is second to nobody. I have told him (and the new GM of WCKM Clay Ashworth agrees with me) that Kip Grant's Great Gold Plus show should be syndicated and offered across the country. Clay has the horsepower....maybe it will happen.

Croaker-
Thanks....Syndicating Kip's show would be a great idea and it's worthy of that...I spoke to Kip earlier in the week and he didn't think Ashworth was serious about syndication. Let's see what happens. Hope they have the brains to keep Great Gold Plus....

Tuned in Sunday afternoon and it was just bad automation. Not even voiced tracked.

It would be nice it they picked up ESPN Radio on 1450. It has a much better signal than 1230 and maybe it would actually be on the air more often.
