Changes at WFTL AM 850

I noticed the changes this past Monday.

The South Florida Morning News now runs from 6-10 am. Gone is Derek Hayward. Karen Curtis is riding solo the first two hours. She is joined at 8:00 am by Rich Stevens, who lost his show at the 9-noon time slot. They now air The Herman Cain Show from 10-noon.

850 WFTL - Weekly Schedule

I find Herman Cain tough to listen to and very boring. I'll miss Rich at 9. I enjoyed his show. Rich certainly has worked almost every shift on FTL. I switched between Rich and Rick Sanchez on WIOD, usually listening to Rich a bit more. Now it's Sanchez exclusively. I hope there are some elements of Rich's show in the new slot.

Did Cain's syndicator demand a live clearance?

So what's going on with Paul Barsky? He's been out over a year on medical leave. Picture is still up..and old airchecks. Is he at home..Hospital..on a secret assignment with the CIA..what????????????????

So, now . . . Karen Curtis is out (at least I think she is, no references to her on Facebook or the webpage). Back in his old digs is Gerard Campbell with his "South Florida Morning News" from 6 to 10 AM. Haven't tuned in. Did Lindy Rome follow him over as a contributor, like she was on 900 AM? No references to her on the 850 site. Gerard is back beginning March 1st.

Why is he on 850 . . . again? As of, it seems as early as February 23rd, he was out at JVC's 900 AM "The Talk." His last Facebook post on 900 AM's page was February 12th. First Imus post on the page was February 23rd. So much for "The Talk" 900 being "live and local" as they claimed they would be in the beginning . . . the only "local" programming is the brokered blocks from 2 to 6 PM weekdays. Everything else after Imus is Fox News hosts. After that, whatever time buys 900 AM is running on the weekends is "local."

I guess the money Alpha/Jorgensen saved by firing Sid Rosenberg and his crew on 640 went to bringing back Gerard -- after his sacking at 900 AM by JVC? But it great to have Imus back on the air in South Florida again.

Now, Karen Curtis, who did mornings, is back. She appears on website and Facebook. Her live show is "The Drive at 5." So, Kaufman 12 to 3. They pick up Micheal Savage 3 to 5, then, Karen goes live.
