Changes at Wild 96-3??

radio listeners in the Fort noticing some big playlist changes on Wild 96.3? I knew something was up when I was driving to work this morning and I heard 'Since U Been Gone' by Kelly Clarkson. A check on yes.com shows that they are definitely mixing more pop-ish songs in their playlist. Some of these songs don't even belong on Rhythmic radio! Here's a sample

12:36 AM- Green Day- Wake Me Up When September Ends
3:49 AM- Fall Out Boy- Sugar, We're Goin Down
11:29 AM- Kelly Clarkson- Since U Been Gone
1:52 PM- Maroon 5- She Will Be Loved
2:49 PM- Green Day- Wake Me Up When September Ends
7:30 PM- Nickelback- Photograph
8:42 PM- Maroon 5- She Will Be Loved

Is this change a reaction to their dismal ratings in the last book? Are there more changes on the way? I think they're going too far with this. There's nothing wrong with being an aggressive Rhythmic CHR. But, don't play the same three songs over and over again. And leave the rock songs to your sister station, My 103.9! Dig deeper in your library! I know you can! I listen to the Wild Workout at noon and they play some pretty good stuff on that show. There's gotta be more where that came from!!
______________

Does the Wild Workout play any Dance Music, like the Wild Workout on Wild 94.9 San francisco?

It's mostly a mixshow with a lot of remixes and hip-hop that don't always get played on Wild.
______________

Excellent :)

Ft. Wayne already has an established Hip Hop station with Hot 107.9. How many Hip Hop stations does a market like Ft. Wayne need anyways, especially with there being no CHR/Pop outlet?

I know 96.3 already tried CHR, but I hope they'll do better this time around. Right now musically they're sounding like a lot of the major/large market CHR/Pop stations - Hot 99.5 Washington, Q-102 Philadelphia, 96.1 Kiss FM Pittsburgh, and 102.7 KIIS FM Los Angeles,

I'm pretty sure My 103.9 is a Mainstream CHR.

Bottom line is Ft. Wayne has too many FM radio stations! That's a good thing for the listener, though. Plenty of options to choose from.

My 103.9 is a great Adult CHR, much more balanced musically then the typical Hot AC/Adult CHR:

However, when it comes to CHR/Pop here's what the CHR/Pop chart looks like:

Plenty of options as long as you like some form of rock, AC/Hot AC, or country. No mainstream CHRs (until Wild recently flinched), no Urban or Urban AC... yet FOUR AC stations (My 103.9, Majic, Sunny, and WMEE). Scanning the dial makes one wonder if the Fort isn't the soccer mom capital of the midwest.

Milfs? :)

I really dont think that 5 songs, played 7 times over a day is considered a "BIG PLAYLIST CHANGE" - Looks like an adjustment to differentiate themselves from 107.9

No Urban? Isn't WJFX close enough?!!! Wild 96-3 plays a fair amount of that stuff, too. You do have a good point about Urban AC, though.

And take a look at My 103.9's playlist. No way in hell are they AC. They are Mainstream CHR, albeit a somewhat conservative one.

You'll be very hard pressed to find a market the size of Ft. Wayne with as much variety on the dial as Ft. Wayne.
