Changes at WQMF?

I heard them this afternoon. Sounded like they were playing the hits as usual. Cold as ice, Another one bites the dust, Go your own way, etc. The only hair I heard was Round and Round from Ratt. And that was a pretty big hit as I recall.

I just miss the 90's they were playing. I like hearing "Plush" "Teen Spirit" etc. as well as the usual classic rock songs.

I've heard Ratt (which I like) but I'm also hearing Poison, Warrant and too much Bon Jovi. To be honest, I have no use for any classic rock format anymore. Great songs but at 40 I've heard them too many times.

They may have wanted to avoid crossover with the fox and gen x. Both of them are playing stuff from that era.

Does anyone know the name of the new "Imaging" voice, as well as the one who was just replaced?

I recognize the former guy. That was Charlie Kendall from Lexington. Don't know the new one.

Ratt? Poison?? Didn't they tour together in what must have been billed as the Ratt Poison tour? Was it sponsored by D-Con?? :)

Yes they have tweaked to the "real classic rock" format. Along with its Clear Channel twin WFBQ in INDY. They dropped anything soft (i.e. Steely Dan, Elton John, Billy Joel, Blondie, REM and anything 90's). They added more guitar lead songs, (Hair Bands, Molly Hatchet, Loverboy).
I actually like hearing the occational hair band, but to drop the songs they dropped, is ridiculous. A classic rock station that refuses to play the Beatles! They even ran a promo saying that Elton John and Steely Dan are not real classic rock. So....last month these artists were good enough for QMF but this week they suck? They only thing that sucks is clear channel's version of classic rock. This is why I recenly subscribed to XM radio.
I remember the heydays of QMF when they were an AOR station. I remember hearing a wide variety of Rock songs from U2, to Led Zepplin, to the the Byrds to Huey Lewis to Quiet Riot to INXS to REM to Bon Jovi. Thanks to Clear Channel and specifically targeted demos, these days are gone and never will return. I wish the tired Classic Rock format would die too.
