Changes at WTIC 1080

If WTIC AM wanted to make some real changes, they can start from 9am to 6pm on weekdays. I don't know why this solid blue state is subjected to crap ranging from Vicevich to Rowland?

If you'd hear the calls into the programming, you'd know people are listening. If you looked at the ratings, you'd know the programming is paying the bills. It's certrainly not my cup of tea (I can't stand the tin-foil hat brigade lie-mongering fear-pandering right-wingers) but it brings in the most revenue and the most listeners out of any AM station in CT... it even beats a number of the FM's in Hartford.

Reely: I submit that 95% of WTIC AM's ratings/revenue are due to Red Sox baseball, UCONN football and basketball, and its news division and Vicevich, Limbaugh and Rowland are merely filler. BTW, Premiere Network, the supplier of Limbaugh is $21 billion in the hole. Dial Global lost 77% of its profit thanks to the Lying Limbaugh's whose days of terrorizing America (and his friends) are coming to its merciful conclusion.

WTIC's new Sunday Morning line-up is stink-a-roo.

A new show called The Truth About Money with Ric Edleman will be airing 7AM-9AM.

At 9AM will be 20 mins of news, sports, weather and information.

At 9:20AM will be a Sabbath Message.

As mentioned above Joel Johnson's show will be on at 9:30AM.

The Tag Sale will be airing 10AM-12PM 3 Sundays a month and 10AM-11AM one Sunday a month. As the 3rd Sunday of the month will continue to be "Healthcare Matters" with Hartford Health Care.

They can do what they want - just don't take away the "V for Victory" time signal at the TOH.

Yes, that has to stay! :)

And Sunday morning used to be used for religious programming.
So now there's a show about the Almighty Dollar!
It says a lot. :D

95%?? Really? You shouldn't let your political views obscure the facts. A successful and profitable radio station would never be able to derive that much revenue solely from sports & news. Premiere itself is NOT $21 billion in the hole- it's part of Clear Channel which IS that far in the hole. And CC got there not due to loss in ad revenue from Limbaugh but by buying many stations and leveraging the hell out of them. If your DG figure is correct it has far more to do with their acquisition of Westwood One than a handful of people with whom you disagree. For the record, MOST advertisers that buy DG networks, Premiere, et al have restrictions on running their commercials within controversial shows and have for years- long before the hoopla over Limbaugh earlier this year. Those restrictions cover many different shows, no matter the particular political bent- when Air America was around they were on the DNP list, too. I know none of this fits with your world view, but it is what it is...
