Changes at WWAC and Mega moves

With WWAC sounding much better music wise, liners and nostalgic ads, cool bobby B and wibbage liners plus 2 translators and a flamethrower AM signal I don't think WMID will be missed if they go away. What I cannot figure out is that the 1020 signal is so strong for low power, in fact driving around from CC to Jersey in the Medford Mt Holly areas (60 miles from their Xmtr) they are like a local and driving in some areas they get super loud. Is 1020 a nice clear frequency or is their setup top notch, they sound great for AM, even the notable powerful WMID for decades cannot match their coverage.....

Frankly, they shouldnt ID any of the translators.. they should just ID it as "1020 am WWAC Ocean City, somers point, also on 101.3 fm in atlantic city, 101.9 fm ocean city and 97.9 fm cape may" Using translator calls is just alphabet soup that means nothing to listeners
I am in Atlantic City this weekend and thanks to this thread I decided to listen to 101.3 W267BP, 101.9 W270DV, and 97.9 W250AK. Wow am I impressed! They’re playing a LOT of music from the 50s and 60s. And I heard a long stopset with 5 spots. Amazing that this station is able to sell so many ads playing 50s and 60s oldies in 2023. I think more stations should adopt this format. Paul I’m sure that you would love this station. It reminds me of the format of a certain pirate station in Connecticut 20 years ago.

Here’s the legal ID for this station. There’s a small mistake with the legal ID. Can anyone figure out what the mistake is?

Ahh... well, I noticed two:
  • It is always at the very top of the hour, which cuts off whatever song is playing at that time. Very minor but frustrating mistake.
  • It should be W270DV

I couldn't find one either. It appears the website is a combo for WIBG-FM and WWAC-AM. Not streaming is more than likely a cost-cutting option which can be quite costly if not geofenced and even then its still an expense at the end of the day...
They have switched the Breeze stream to Wbbage Gold.

Lance Venta's RadioInsight.com article about the "Last Nite" loop + impending change:

New web site (as of this post; could be subject to change):

Mentions where to listen to "Hot Country 101 WWAC":
Cape May County - 101.9 - FM
Atlantic County - 101.3 - FM
Also Available on 1020 AM

Great. We needed another country station.
What goes around, comes around. The owner of Cat did the AM/translator treatment to WKMK and failed on the jersey Shore. Now, Cat is getting the same treatment. I love it.But,here in Brooklyn,we have a pirate blocking 106.3.

It means a lot to me. I like to memorize the call letters of every station I listen to. They absolutely should identify all of the translators twice an hour!
I’m glad that Atlantic City will continue to have an oldies station after WMID 93.1 flips to K-Love. Oldies is the hottest format on the radio!
The only thing more awesome could be one of those translators simulcasts KSKO. Because I am a HUGE fan of KSKO!!!
WLRB is already K-Love, 93.1 will become Cape May's Outlet for Air1
