It appears Venom and DJ Frosty were hired over to WXBT from crosstown WHXT 103.9 and started today. I'm not sure which shift they are on, but I believe midday. Also, they have added a nightly slow jam show entitled "After Hours". With more R&B music on WXBT, this should definately open Columbia up for a Rhythmic top 40. I think this also may help WXBT's cause in beating WHXT to be the number 1 for hip-hop and R&B as well, which they have had no problem doing. DJ Frosty has plans to play more local hip-hop in his mixes which Hot would not allow him to do. Hot 103.9 just isn't the same station it used to be 8 years ago, or even 5 years ago. I think this could be the nail in the coffin for 103.9 because those were some of their best local talents. Thoughts?
