Changes At Xtreme Radio

KXTE is running teasers promoting changes coming August 28th. Free-FM? The domain 1075freefm.com was just purchased on August 11th. No website yet. I've also heard that Opie & Anthony are to start soon in the Vegas market. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm..............

Opie & Anthony come to Las Vegas, as KXTE "X107.5 Xtreme Rock Radio" catches the virus. O&A will follow Adam Carolla and air from 10a-1p weekdays, beginning Monday, August 28. “KXTE X 107.5 Xtreme ROCK Radio marks its 10th year on the air by becoming even more Xtreme. We are excited to add Opie & Anthony to mid days in our already extreme line up,” says VP/GM Marty Basch.

Middays? Maybe someone else can chime in...but I don't believe that O&A have music, do they?

So does this mean that the afternoon show will be all talk or will they still play music. And since it's almost Free FM anyway, will Penn's show be on from 2-3? Just go Free FM and play music at night.

I'm hearing they are in discussions with another local show and plan to replace existing afternoon show.

The Extreme Disorder wouldn't be that bad if they didn't do such hacky bits like a morning zoo type show. That would suck for these guys to move all the way from SC just to be canned 8 months later.

Why not just make Xtreme into a FreeFM (even if not branded as such) with Leykis and the rest, leave the Dodgers on 1140 and turn the rest of it into a brokered hole. Or make it a tourist station again! You can't hear it over KNEWS Palm Springs at night anyway.

Look for 107.5 to go all talk 6a-Midnight M-F with Extreme Rock weekends within 30 days. Also two new shows to be added including a current Las Vegas rock personality to take over nights 7-10.

The only personalities on a local station I can think of is Warrior on KKLZ and Dick Dale on KOMP. I don't think it would be Warrior and why would Dale give up afternoons to go to nights? Would they syndicate? I did hear that he and Carly Brown have started dating so maybe the previous poster knows something we don't.

Here's a wild guess. Would Carlota ever leave KOMP to re-join 107.5? Moving from middays to nights would be a step down. But maybe doing all talk/personality would appeal to her if the price is right. She is one of the few that could pull it off. Then again she may want nothing to do with CBS after the way they cut her out of the budget last time.
