It appears (based off their website) that Chuck Corbin and Susie Summer have been let go. Does this mean the end of local traffic updates? I'm now waiting for some shit syndicated show to be aired from 7-12. Way to go geniuses! You now have a mediocore morning show (no reason to listen anymore without traffic), a rather unfunny mid-day man, and apparently no afternoon drive traffic to give the lackluster Al Burke any ratings. Soon, part-timers will be the only ones left over there! Gotta love CC!
 
I was checking out the B104 website and Laura St. James' name wasn't anywhere to be found. Can anyone confirm this. If I am mistaken, please correct me.

Have you read a paper or looked at tv news" I heard that gm is firing 40,000 people. Y102 loses 2, and you are pissed. oh sure, people only listen for the traffic reports. right. the music has nothing to do with it...come on..who gives a damn about where the traffic reports come from. its the way of the world. companys have been firing and laying off people for the last year or more. get used to it. instead of bitching, maybe you should try to support the people who still have their jobs in radio, instead of busting on them. or are you too close to the people who were let go.

Actually, I don't know either person. Indeed, I am a CC employee (I knew firings were coming for a lot of people, but a friend who is local to your station actually noticed and emailed me) so I know how stuff goes. I wouldn't call me "pissed," more disappointed in the way radio today is being run. I used to live in the area and always listened to Y102 only for the traffic as the music is not to my liking. I was mearly commenting on what the station seems to have become. Your mentality that "everyone's firing people, so get used to it" is sad. Nobody should ever get used to being fired! I will continue to support those in the industry, especially at my station, that I feel are worthy of their jobs/titles.
 
What thy need is new program director, the one now would be good on b101.
 
Tough to work for CC. I think Al Burke has done a great job at Y102. Look what he has for a budget and then look at how he's grown a successful station. It's easy to fix a dog but hard to maintain or even grow a successful one. It's wrong to call my baby ugly but radio is very ugly right now.
