Changes coming in 2007 to Ocean City-SalisburyMarket

Now that Clear Channel is spinning off the Salisbury stations, here are some thoughts. First they have 8 stations, 6 FM and 2 AM. When the 6 FM were picked up the rules were based on overlap, but now it's based on market, so one of the FM's will have to be spun off separately. I would thing Magic 98.9, for several reasons, low billing and it's tower sites owned, all the other FM sites are leased. Now who wants these stations? Well with 2 class B FM's and a Class B-1, I would think Cumulus might want back in the market (They sold to CC because of a bigger deal to add other CC stations). How about Nassau, they've been expanding into the region. Also Saga, which has stations in the Norfolk area. By the way Great Scott has a similar problem, 8 FM's and 2 AM's, if they ever sell, 3 FM's will have to go separately. Delmarva Broadcasting is kind of interesting because they own 4 FM in the market, and two in Milford. Milford in spill in half, part is in Sussex County and half is in Kent County. The tower site for WAFL is in Kent County, and the tower site for WNCL is in Sussex County, so depending on how the FCC looks at it they either have 4 FM's in the Salisbury market, or 5 or 6. They do primarily market both Milford stations at the Dover area, which is a part of the Wilmington market. I hear that Delmarva may be looking to acquire more stations, but I don't know where. Would MTS be interested in adding to the Cambridge cluster (Not all of Clear Channel, but may be the FM being sold separately). Would Beasley which is buying WJBR FM in Wilmington be interested in adding the Salisbury stations as a regional play? Oh had the voice tracking by out of market jocks will probably change, one shift on Froggy is done by a jock at WPOC in Baltimore. The news on the Salisbury cluster was done by Arron at WPOC, but that ended when Clear Channel entered into a deal with WBOC to provide news and weather for it's stations.2007 is going to be very interesting "Down the ocean Hon".
