Changes coming to KLTV?

KLTV is running promo's mentioning a "change" coming. They flash the daybreak crew on the screen just before it fades to black. Anyone know what's going on?

"Word had it" a couple of months ago that some element of change was in thre making regarding on-air news peoplet. There lately seems to be some on-and-off moving around of the female 6 and 10 anchor with one of the street reporters. This shift could be just part of normal business to accommodate days off and such or possibly could represernt a try-out run for more far-reaching change.

The promo is intriguing in that it possibly signals substantive changes to come, or perhaps it's just a sleight of hand to get viewers to draw nigh and pay more attention.

Given the station's new ownership, of course, a substitution in who does what would not be a complete surprise.

Is work complete on the tower near Hawkins that replaces the one that fell back in February? That could be the answer.

Interesting thought. When we hear "change," the presumption often goes to people rather than station hardware. Broadcasting from the new tower would certainly be a "change." Some sources indicate the permanment tower is supposed to be up and in use by early 07, not that far away.

I see that the original request for a Special Temporary Authority to operate from old tower just east of Tyler was filed on February 17th, a couple of weeks after the big one fell. The request was for 180 days, or until repairs were completed, although FCC records indicate the STA wasn't actually approved until July 10th. Three months to put up a tower just over 1,000 foot tall? Somehow I don't buy it, but if that time frame is for real it would be just about ready.

A month or so ago, Brad Streit told the Longview News-Journal Answer Line that the new tower would be completed some time in December.

I'd imagine they are adding an HD-ready transmitter to the new tower, which may take longer to install and calibrate (just guessing here). If you're going to have to go the expense of putting up a brand new tower might as well do it right the first time.

I hear that the promo about change coming to KLTV now mentions "Mornings." Anybody able to confirm?

The promo has changed to now give a little more info. It does say a "change coming to mornings"...and not just a change is coming

What street reporter was filling in at the anchor desk? Was it Lindsay Wilcox? I went to college with her and I know she always brings her "A" game...

I was up near Hawkins yesterday on FM14, where their tower could be clearly seen previously. If work has commenced on reconstruction, they have yet to clear the trees...because I didn't see anything that looked like a tower in the erecting.

Changes announced......and on air.

KLTV has reformatted their Daybreak program to become "Good Morning East Texas"......and have been running ads on it.
