Mark it down...Power 105 is going to change to spanish hits in the next week. makes sense too with all the hispanic growth in springdale. i also heard smooth jazz is being considerd for Hot Mix in january. great time for 104.9 or 106.5 to go CHR without the hard edge!!

That's funny!!! why would the heritage CHR change formats?
 
I have worked in this market. I don't see any of those changes happening. What this market needs is a good Oldies or Classic Hits station on FM. I don't see 106.5 changing ever, nor do I see "The X" changing either. that won't happen. Power 105.7 ratings are too good for them to switch. Eddie Vega has the spanish market pretty well covered. The money that the Hispanics have to spend is not that great. I can't see 4 spanish stations here. Better think again about power Changing. Smooth Jazz, don't see that hapoening either.
 
The oldies format would be a plus, but as Mac McChristian found out, it is pretty hard to run a standalone FM against Clear Channel and Cumulus and to do it right. K-95.7 was a good station, but every time he got a good salesperson, Clear Channel and Cumulus came in and gobbled them up...

KURM does okay because they are on their own planet over there... I can't name one person that has been a part of that station and stayed successful in the radio business. Steve Womack got out and became successful as the Mayor of Rogers...

If I had the money, I would buy KURM AM/FM, 106.5, 95.7, and have a nice little cluster. But it would take a LOT of capital to get that thing going successfully.
 
Cumulus is a piece of junk and has been ever since Demry sold out! I've been here for a long and their stations are low lever versions of clear channel...but those clowns over there can't even get it together. I hope someone comes in with a format!
 
Can you really say that 105.7 is a lower version of 101.9? 101.9 is over modulated, doesnt come in west of farmington, and has a disaster of a morning show. And KAMO 94.3 is a great station...it isnt 2nd class to anyone. Sorry I have to back the stations that employ local citizens and have real contests. Do you really think i beleive the black woman named Kaneesha is the $1000 winner on Kix 104? Jesus Christ.
