Changes Coming To T-Town

For those wondering, Jesus Radio Selma will stay as is. My own presentation is still having major success, after three years. I have no future plans of changing it.

Now for more news on the T-Town changes: https://www.almediapage.info/profiles/wfma.html Dan isn't big into an all Worship styled format. Not my cup of tea. Going to leave things as is. Excited over my future anyway.

Where do the WTID calls wind up after 102.9 becomes WFMA? I would think Townsquare would want to hold on to the WTID call letters, given the "Tide" branding...maybe parking them on WTBC-AM 1230 or possibly returning to 101.7 FM? 95.3? 105.1?

WTID (Soon To Be WFMA) is now silent. The new format and calls are on the way. Stay tuned.

I thought WTID might have gone off the air for the upcoming format change, too, as I haven't been able to receive the station in south Shelby county for several days now; normally, I get a fairly decent signal from WTID. Oddly enough, none of the Tide 102.9 listeners has inquired on the station's facebook page as to why 102.9 has been off the air, nor is there any info from Townsquare on the page instructing listeners to tune into 100.9 and/or notifying them that the sports format will be moving exclusively to 100.9 FM soon. I am guessing some of the listeners are now listening to 100.9 bc the station promote both frequencies over the air, but one would assume some of the WTID listeners would be unaware that the station rebroadcasts on 100.9 as well i.e. they missed the memo.

I went ahead and checked 102.9 this evening. WTID is in fact on the air, albeit barely audible here in Shelby county; I heard the legal TOH staton ID around 5 pm. Must be operating on much less power than usual. It might have been a situation where the station was just off the air temporarily for technical reasons rather than purposely going silent.

102.9 is now broadcasting Air1 as of this evening.
