Changes coming to the Golden Triangle CC cluster

We should hear more today. Joey Armstrong is moving "down the hall" from Cool 92.5 - and there are supposedly some other big moves as well.

Wow!!! Now if they will only FIX 92.5's audio! :)
I may need to call my contacts there and see what's up

amen to that! and CC's KKMY is STILL simulcasting on 103.3 in Beaumont, which I never understood. I think it has something to do with blocking out nearby KBIU in Lake Charles so no one can hear that station in Beaumont.
As far as 92.5, I noticed the audio issue for a long time now while travelling through that area going to Louisiana.

The Beaumont/Port Arthur AND Lake Charles area listeners have poor or NO feed back on this board as well as other boards.

i just wish 95 would fix their mic
easily the worst in setx

Shane, I think this is the perfect forum for Beaumont, Port Arthur, Orange, etc. postings. After all, Houston and Beaumont have been becoming one in the same for the past several years. On top of that, those stations that still market themselves to the Triangle such as KIOC, KKMY and KYKR are regularly picked up here in Houston, anyway.

Hmm, I can't seem to pick those up in my office here in SW Houston. Wait..... You must be in Channelview or Baytown? They are listenable on your car radio in that part of the Houston area.

The "story" is 104.5 has building penetration issues in Beaumont so they have had the translator carry 104.5 for a good while...(originally it was carrying another station...Jasper I think??? A former engineer at KYKR BMT put the translator on and then CC took it over once they merged the Star groups into CC).. and it was on long before KBIU moved from 103.7 to 103.3...NOW I would think it would be better if CC could move it to 104.9 (or even 105.1) and it would closer to 104.5 freq wise and maybe AFC in office table tops, etc would pull it to that freq when trying to tune 104.5 in....BUT CC probably wont move it...besides it is not operating as a translator but an illegal LPFM (they arent rebroadcasting 104.5...they are using a separate exciter on 103.3 at the studios!) Get on the south side of BMT or into Lumberton and KBIU comes through...but then if CC would UPGRADE 104.5 to a real C1 (981ft at 100KW), they would not have the problems with building penetration....of course with CC eventually selling every market below #75 off in the next year or so (as rumors have it...forget 100 and down...it will go to 75), the BPT cluster will probably go too and CC has no interest in spending the money to upgrade (of course they didnt upgrade 106.1 KIOC to a full C and now its a C0....it could be downgraded again to a C1 if the co channel applicants get creative ;)..its barely at 1000ft anyway.

Problem with BPT and LCH listeners is there are few in those locations on the boards...its not that they have no place to post.....(This board, the Texas and La boards would be ok)...

I dont listen to country and not to 95.1, but Caldwell on 560 sure has sounded like cr$p lately...this morning while listening to them going to Fox News @ 8am, Al sounded distorted and yet the music in the background was ok and so was Fox News....and when they have others in the studio, the mics all sound different...one sounds good and the other sounds hollow (could be the acoustics in the studios but still)....THAT is bad!!
of course still love hearing Q94's audio underneath KLVI's program audio.....and when they have dead air, they really dont ;)

Caldwell may sound like cr$p, but the Beaumont Enterprise ballot box stuffers voted him favorite radio personality. Go figure.
