changes coming to wnwv?

listening to 107.3 the wave in cleveland the other day, i heard a liner play with their new pd angie handa (she's going by angie kelly on air) proclaiming that in a few weeks listeners will start to hear a "fresher, brighter" music mix that people asked for. i don't know exactly what that means, but it sounds awful straight ahead ac-ish to me. they had been actually playing a higher instrumental ratio since they brought in mcvay media so i was surprised to hear this. anyone hearing anything out of cleveland?

With a new PD at the helm things always change. I still think WNWV is headed for the BA Network and maybe McVay is a diversionary thing? Not sure if that can happen but I really think that before the fall book BA will finally reveal the new "Smooth AC Network". All their affiliates will do the Soft Urban AC thing ,along with their new Jones affiliates. Handa worked a BA station before so she's in familiar territory. The only other thing I can think of with the McVay connection is that McVay will compete with BA for the Smooth AC audience so they can't have it to themselves? It will be interesting to watch. I still think things are way too quiet in Philly at WJJZ. Keep an eye on them as well. Please keep your ears on and thanks for that report.

longtime afternoon host richard greer is out. i can't find the details of whose decision it was, but something tells me with the new pd now taking the midday shift, it might have been a cost-cutting move. even if the station is committed to smooth jazz, moves like this are a very bad sign.
