Changes for "DOT-FM" 96.7 WXZO....

It would seem so, as the jocks spent today trumpeting the fact that today was their last day on the air.

Not sure what that means, exactly, except listeners could infer that a format change away from oldies is at hand, and possibly the departure of some or all of the jocks.

But then, I'm speculating, based solely on what I heard on the air today...

Listening now...HOLY EXPLETIVE SOMEBODY IN BURLINGTON RADIO LISTENED TO ME.

Time to start charging for my suggestions.

Aw hell, one more freebie...if you're going to stunt, try indicating so on your website.

Could there be a CHR war brewing in Burlington ? Both CHR signals have pretty much the same range and coverage.

106.3 has a great signal, though most of it is reaching trees in NY State. 95.5 doesn't go south of Burlington all that well. 96.7 does and then some.

Listening to the stream now...the jingles sound like the theme song to a cheesy Saturday morning cartoon and having the tracked midday jock plug the "best of" morning show airing five days from now was a waste of a break.

"A moment of silence for all the commercials that won't be heard?" Really? That's your sweep starter? Why are you talking about commercials at the end of a stopset?

And why did I hear "DJ Got Us Falling In Love" twice in 90 minutes between 1:00 and 2:30? Do you know what "at work listening" is? I understand you gotta slam your powers, but nobody's in the car right now, they're at a desk. You have their undivided attention...let's get a little bit more variety.

Molly J's first talk break after the sweeper that told us about "60 minute commercial free hours?": A break about, yep, "60 minute commercial free hours", followed by her exclaiming "it's like the best radio station ev-ah!" as if she were a Los Angeleno circa 1988. Somebody pays her money to do this?

The CBS sign-ons in major markets in the past year had the sense to do "10,000 in a row commercial free" before introducing air talent. Seems like this should have been the play here.

A 15 second stopdown just now...where we were reminded, yet again, that it was a "60 minute commercial free hour", followed by a contest plug. Were we told how we could win the big screen TV? No, just a mention that Elvis was giving one away. So when I should listen? Do I have to call in? Do I enter online? Why are you talking instead of playing music?

Their VO guy doesn't seem to fit. Just sounds very, I don't know, anemic. A bigger voice may be able to get the message across better.

Agreed. Triple X has Chris Corley, who we can all hear in national movie trailers on television. You gotta come with somebody stronger. I don't even recognize the voice.

Can they afford Kelly Kelly Kelly and Dave Foxx? Did they try?

Nor do I. I am thinking maybe someone they had in-house. XXX sounds like a major market radio station. Imaging, jocks, etc. It is all first class. You need a CHR/Top 40 mind setting up the launch and programming. You can't just take a look at the charts and decide "this is what we are going to play". Ooooh. Just heard one of the jingles. That as well sounds like an in-house job, really that bad. Anyway, you can't cut corners when you are going after a heritage radio station that sounds as good as they do.
