Changes for WAZY's morning show

There is an ambigous advertisement on www.indianabroadcasters.org for a new radio morning show. It states that it's for a college town in a small town but with a big signal (sounds like WAZY to me). It also says that it is working with a small staff (again sounds like WAZY).
Could this mean it is time for the much needed demise of the Big Show with Kim Iverson and Just Jake? They need to be swept under the carpet and kissed goodbye. I've never heard of a duo to spread so much ignorance across the airwaves. C'mon you work at a station that airs numerous winners of American Idol, and a country station is literally down the hall, and you make a comment that Carrie Underwood has not done much since she won American Idol???!!!!
Then you follow such brilliance up with such gems as now knowing what Memorial Day is. But I think the coup de gras of radio brilliance is "What will my cat eat?" WOW!
I hope this advertisement is for a new morning show in Lafayette, because right now WAZY is making Tony and Marci, Mark and Annie, Mummey, Brian McGarvey, and Strange look like epic radio gods!

I would assume that Jake stays. Kim is a great talent and when she did mornings by herself for that short while, I actually listened. Either Kim is fed up with the Artistic crap or she got a better offer. Maybe it could be Just Jake and Chris in the morning and then Waitt Radio Networks all day, oh wait...once the contract is signed it will be!

*I remember hearing that in the WRN Contract for Fort Wayne there was a sale clause that was added. Hmmm, makes you wonder?
 
Lost, For someone who claims to hate the new morning show on WAZY, you sure do a lot of listening! Heck...sounds like you can quote (or misquote) everything that has been said in the last week!

Great radio is about having lots of lovers and haters...all of whom LISTEN. Looks like they are pulling that off quite well.

I'm not currently living in the area so everything I hear is second hand, but rumor has it Kim Iverson is being looked at by some pretty big markets. Sounds like the dogs who really know good radio talent have found what they are looking for. Obviously if the posting on All Access is REALLY for WAZY, then Kim has been given a hot offer.

I've heard the station a few times in the last few months. Kim is really great talent. WAZY couldn't have possibly expected to hold onto her for that long. It was only a matter of time before the big boys came knocking. Best of luck to her. I doubt this is the last we will be hearing her....next thing you know she'll be back in Lafayette...but on a syndicated show. Or better yet...have you SEEN her? She'll be on TV.
 
Isn't Kim the MD at WAZY? The ad mentions the possibility of MD stripes. It looks like Kim may have found greener pastures.

The ad also mentions that a bilingual candidate would be a plus. Hmm...
 
Kim is a tremendous talent. She has prior experience at KWOD in Sactown. When she came to WAZY it was simply for a small stepping stone to much better things. I did notice they wanted a billingual candidate. One of the things that Dan was pushing for is someone who could help transition the AM into a Spanish CHR, which would work really really well in Lafayette. He wanted to hire a morning show co-host who could speak Spanish to voicetrack afternoons on WLAS.
 
All this crap about KIM being a tremendous talent???????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What &#% are you people talking about? She's absolutely HORRIBLE! I have NO idea what that girl is even DOING in the radio business! She's worse than Tony and Marci for crying out loud and THAT's saying something!

When I worked for WAZY in the late 60's/early70's we played MOR
music on 45's on QRK Turntables and 2 itc triple deckers in the studio. By about 1972 all the music was much more contemporary and on carts.

By then, the station had the same jingle package as WABC, New York. Burger Chef had a zillion dollar contract, with ads nearly hourly.

(song ending) jingle; (chime) W-A-Z-Y!
Anncr; Wazy chime time is 4:50, 81 degress now, Get your WAZY Daizy at Sears, downtown. Police working the 4 car pile up at 18th and Alabama, more in the 5 o'clock news, meanwhile Lean on Me..Here's Bill Withers...

PD/afternoon jock Dave Allison and I used to compete for how many 45's we could get stuck in the acoustical tile ceiling just above the dj position.

AHHH... Those stacks of “promo wax” [that never hit the Billboard Hot-100] jammed into the acoustic tile – WHAT MEMORIES... And right on the heels of the “Big 89 WLS Rewind”! But did you play “Ain’t No Sunshine” and “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door” at 47 RPM on those QRKs?

At least WAZY didn’t glue egg-cartons to the studio walls, but let’s not give AMP any “ideas” :D
 
Actually, I DID play Ain't No Sunshine there.

The ony "Heaven's Door" I ever played was by Bob Dylan - but by then I was nights at WDXR, Paducah, KY. No qrk's there, but a sweet Schafer automation system for "live assist."
