I always thought that sound on 103.1 was pretty fat and 98.5 sounds really clean to me and frankly I like it better and it sounds great in my truck with the Bose speakers in it.
The best OMG sounded was before there was an WOMG when it was C103...... Once the format change took place in 89 the audio on what was WOMG always sounded harsh and not pleasing to the ear... We would have listeners from Richland and Lexington counties who could pick up WPUB give us compliments on how much better the oldies sounded on 102.7 than they did on 103.1... WLXC always had much better processing and although I have not heard them since the swap took place I am looking forward to listening to them when I come back to South Carolina in August to see how Classic Hits sounds on there. I know I have suffered some hearing loss, particularly high end, as do a lot of others who are exposed to loud music sources such as concerts, bars, and of course, headphones. I'm probably not one to be judging how audio sounds anymore. :'(
Glad someone is intersted in WISW and Columbia. Only decent show they had on was David White' weekend stuff. Don't know what happened to him or why someone did not pick him up. We was infromative, challenging, at times very funny, and worth every minute of my valuable time.
