Got a few updates on things but not enough to start their own thread.
1- Don't know if this is old or new news, but Clear Channel Station WFMF is now running a 3 hour daily syndicated recap of the Ryan Seacrest morning show from Los Angeles. With the show not listed on WFMF's website but surprisingly listed on Ryan's main website now. It's a Premier Radio Network (Clear Channel) show so expect even more affliates being "forced" aboard I believe.
2-KWDF 840 Am which was a K-Love affliate until swapped with a Shreveport area station (KYLA- Homer) was sold by the latest owners (NWLA Broadcasting) to Wilkins Communications. This ends NWLA's interests in broadcasting and finally adds a Louisiana station for Wilkins. For those with a long memory, Wilkins was the first "buyer" under the name "Cajun Radio" when he attempted to buy KTIB 5 years ago.
3- The Metropolitain radio group of NW Louisiana recently sold 3 radio stations. KORI 104.7 which is a country/southern gospel hybred in simucast with KJVC 92.7 was split off and sold to Houston Christian broadcasters and Springhill sisters KTKC-FM/KBSF-AM have been sold to a Leo Hunt from Texas.. That deal was worth $175,000
It is unknown if they will sell the last station KJVC yet. But the station has been granted an increase of power by the FCC back in February.
4- In preparation for a possible Hurricane Gustav landing, KMYO (Oldies 96.7) flipped to a simucast of sister station KCIL 107.5 in Houma for the duration of the emergency we are assuming (as KCIL does have a CP to move to the KMEZ tower in Shell Beach to cover New Orleans and would eliminate the country station effectively from the Houma listening area.
