Changes in Midland/Odessa

From All Access:

The stunting didn’t last very long at the CUMULUS cluster in MIDLAND-ODESSA. ALL ACCESS has learned Contemporary Christian KGEE (Joy 99.9) has picked up the calls of sister Top 40 KBAT, segueing from GOD to GODSMACK as Mainstream Rocker “KBAT ... THE BASIN’S REAL ROCK,” under new PD KEVIN CHASE, who was APD/MD at the station several years ago.

Over at 99.3 the call letters weren’t the only thing to disappear, as the station heads ‘Hurban’ as “KZBT ... HIP HOP Y MAS.” PD LEO CARO remains and tells ALL ACCESS, “In this market, there was a huge hole for an Hispanic-leaning Hip Hop station. We decided to fill it. Our plan is to program the biggest, baddest Hip Hop hits, along with Spanish Hip Hop and Reggaeton artists like DADDY YANKEE and DON OMAR.”

The new on-air lineup:

MORNING – LEO & REBECCA IN THE MORNING
MIDDAY – JESSICA MARIE
AFTERNOON – CORY KNIGHT (moving from nights)
NIGHTS – ALEX CORONA (from PT)

What I don't understand is why 93.3 still calling themselves "B93"? When they first flipped from rock to rhythmic, they called themselves "B93". When they flipped to mainstream top 40, they called themselves "B93". Now they're hurban, they are still calling themselves "B93". They could easily call themselves "The Beat" to re-identify themselves. They have the calls, KZBT which would fit the name perfectly. I believe keeping the "B93" name could confuse some people.

Alot more changes coming to the Odessa/Midland Market i'm actualy thinking the change is a good thing for B93. I dont think it will hurt the spanish stations in a great way but, it's gonna go face to face with wild 96.1 the 2nd rated station in the market at KQLM there has been some changes and, a new image for the station will be launched this monday as well as the dj line up this is the second time KQLM IS number one over all in a year. From what i hear one of the 3 spanish stations will drop out of the race in the next couple of months . and well going back to talking about B93 clear channel was thinking about fliping to hurban anyway in a matter of weeks does anyone think this format will bring some big number?

So then it was 93.3 that went Hurban, not 99.3?
And why did they move Cory to Afternoons?
I think he kicked Ass at night!
