Changes in the WBZ lineup?

Scott Fybush mentions in this week's headlines, that there are changes in 3 news talk stations coming. KDKA, WBZ and WNYC.
I have trouble navigating fybush.com buy by the week , so I'm curious as to what those changes are

The fybush article implied that other than morning drive, the anchors have been rotating every 30 minutes and this was bringing that to the morning as well. That doesn’t seem accurate - they have always done the 15 minute rotation all day until now. On the weekends too but they seem to rotate 3 anchors a lot instead of two.

The other thing mentioned is each news block will have a core team of an editor, a writer and two anchors. I’m wondering if they have reduced the number of writers or if that is the same. Possibly the 30 minute rotation gives the anchor who is off air more time to do some writing or other things that would be hard to donin a 15 minute window.

The "15-minute rotation" for WBZ news anchors was done during AM and PM drive on weekdays only. Midday during the week used a 30-minute rotation of two anchors. As far as three anchors: that was a weekend thing until shortly after the iHeart takeover. But for the past few weekends and during this holiday week, the three-anchor, 90-minute rotation seems to have returned. Moreover, during this Christmas week, I never know who is going to be on in any given half hour, be it AM or PM drive or midday or weekend. E.g., this afternoon, both Jeff Brown and Josh Binswanger were rotating half hours in early afternoon.

As for some people appearing to be having a hard time: based on my observation, that's mostly Shari Small, not Mike Macklin so much. IMHO, Shari does very well as a reporter, but seems to struggle a bit when at the controls as an anchor. (Again, these are my personal opinions.)

For WBZ: Jeff Brown & Deb Lawler are morning drive. Ben Parker & Nichole Davis mid-days. Josh Binswanger is afternoons with Laurie Kirby.

Well they must still be in transition, because I heard Josh Binswanger in (I think) the noon hour yesterday (with Jeff Brown, IIRC), and he was on this morning at 9:30.

Whatever the published line up is (and it is not on their web site) - the anchors are not what was published by Fybush. Josh Binswanger this morning with Art Cohen. Deb Lawler has been MIA for a while. Maybe she had a lot of vacation time to use - hopefully she is well. This morning I think they were doing 15 minute rotations as well (I was sleepy though when listening so could be wrong).

You heard correctly. Also, Laurie Kirby and Jeff Brown were in their usual 15-minute rotations this afternoon.

I, too, was surprised, since I thought "the changes" would kick off today.

But you know what? I actually prefer those 15-minute rotations in AM and PM drive. It gives me a sense of which half of the half-hour it is.

All in all, today was a welcome change to the scrambled WBZ schedule that ran for the Christmas holiday week. It could be that with the 30-minute rotations using three anchors during the Christmas break, wherein familiar voices were likely to be heard in who-knows-which half-hour, management (hopefully) realized the 30-minute rotations were not such a great idea for AM and PM drive.

Josh Binswanger mentioned on his cross over with Bradley Jay that he moves to PM drive on Monday. So it looks like the anchor changes start then.

Yes Jeff and Laurie were talking about it Friday afternoon. Laurie was wishing him well and Jeff was talking about needing an alarm clock.
