My buddy Ugly Ed Johnson had a heck of a run on KARN handling the 9-11 slot. I have to say I enjoyed listening to him there... According to his blog (www.uglyed.com) he is going to focus on his duties at Alice 107.7...

Who knows what will happen from here, but for what it's worth... I thought he did a great job doing both shifts.
 
I hate to hear that. It's time to bring in fresh blood to talk radio. I don't think that talk radio managers realize there's a new generation of listerners. They keep programming for people born in the 40's not people born in the 60's and 70's.

I only heard Ed once on KARN but he was doing a heck of a job. Talk radio can eat your lunch pretty quickly but as long as you have lots of guests or callers all you have to do is ask questions.

I worked with Ed years ago at K-Rock. (I'm showing my age!!!) He has heart and that's all it takes to make a good employee in radio...heart.

I heard a few days ago that they are looking for news people right and left.
 
Gladner's the only one on KARN who makes good cash. The rest of them starve. Yet people wonder why it's just a revolving door. It's because people have to EAT.
