Changes on Garrison City's WTSN and WBYY

I've noticed that the two Garrison City stations have recently made some personnel changes. The Bay 98.7 WBYY got rid of Jeff Paradis on the morning show as it's only hosted by Dan Lunnie. WTSN-AM got rid of newsmen Nick Quinn and John Graham and have replaced them with newbie Greg Shaw. (I wish WTSN would finally update their website.)

Does anyone know if these changes were just a cost savings move, or something more?

Money is always the likely suspect. That and a new programming guy.

Jeff Paradis, John Graham and alike are gone from the websites. John's picture is STILL showing.
They need to cut John out from the group shot.

Memo to WTSN, no more group shots of air staff will be taken. Making changes is costly. And we expect changes...

That is all.

It now sounds like Mike Pomp would be the "senior" employee?? ???

Dan Lunney is a pro's pro. Great sense of humor and intelligent. He was awesome at WOKQ for years...in fact he would have been a great operations manager as he has very little ego.

Bumping this for two reasons:

1. Has there been any news on hiring a replacement for Jeff Paradis on WBYY? I'm not an insider, but you'd think this would be a desirable job for someone to work for a local station and company. And everything I've read on these boards states Dan Lunnie is a great guy to work with.

2. WTSN is announcing a new local show "The Chef's Plate" to their Saturday morning lineup. It's dining show that highlights local restaurants, eateries, etc.

I feel lucky living in Dover, NH that we have WTSN with a strong local commitment.

One more change: it looks like Garrison has gotten rid of newsman Roger Wood. (Either that or he's on a really long vacation...over 3 weeks.) Greg Shaw has taken over for Roger in the mornings. And Mark Edwards (who was mentioned above in Jimc's post about the job opening) has taken over the afternoon new slot.

WTSN still hasn't updated their website with the staff changes from over two months ago.

A few weeks ago Garrison made a few more staff changes.

Pat Kelly who had the 3-7 PM shift on the Bay got moved (promoted/demoted?) to the afternoon news shift on WTSN. Mark Edwards had been the PM news guy on WTSN, and he took the 3-7 PM DJ slot on the Bay. Basically Edwards and Kelly switched on air positions.

Edwards is also the dir. of operations for both stations.

In just over 4 months Garrison has eliminated 2 news staff positions and the afternoon DJ spot. Wow!
