Changes to Good Day Chicago on Fox 32

Richard Roeper is out at Good Day Chicago, the morning show on the Fox-owned station, WFLD.

According to Robert Feder’s blog, the veteran Chicago news man and station news director, Matt Piacente, told the staff on Wednesday.

“I’ve had a lot of fun the past couple of years, but I’m looking forward to having more flexibility in my work schedule to pursue other projects, in Chicago and in Las Vegas and Los Angeles,” Roeper said.

The Emmy award winning anchor-reporter joined the morning show two years ago as a co-host and contributor.

Good Day Chicago has seen a number of changes in the recent weeks.

Anchor Darlene Hill’s contract ended at the end of September, she hasn’t been on air since. And anchor Corey McPherrin moved to the station’s evening 5 and 9pm weekday shows.

One of the recent talent out is Richard Roeper.

Which I have never watch when Richard Roeper was on the show. And now he will have a lot of time on his hands, as his only main job will still be with the Chicago Suntimes, where he will do his columns, and of course be the film critic for the Suntimes. The first few days he won't even know what to do. He will still contribute to Roe Conn's show on WGN Radio and sometimes help fill in. But he won't really have any tv or radio jobs, and will this be for the first time really since after he left Ebert & Roeper.
