Changes to KIOL website

http://houstonrock1037.com/

I must admit, I have been disapointed with the KIOL website. The designers have thrown up links that go to pages with no content. It's been this way since the station went on the air. Why put the links up if they just go to unfinished pages.

To my surprise they now have a 'now playing' section. It shoots you off to:

http://djgrego.com/kiol.htm

So who is DJ Grego? Is this the Grego that was on KLOL? I don't think so. He seems to be a person living in Beaumont based on his personal page.

Maybe a broadcast engineer since he has a link for this under his personal section.

So for the rest, we'll just keep waiting.

Cool link, but when I clicked in the "Now Playing" link at KIOL's site I just got a list of songs. Strange, maybe they're working on the website today and there was an accidental wrong link for a moment?

It's not the Grego that used to be on KLOL and hte Eagle in Dallas. It's some guy named Gregory Davis from Beaumont. Not sure who he is though.

Interesting note about the website...

When you click on "Music," you get a list of bands--about 71.

There may be a few deviations, but I can't remember hearing any other bands than the ones listed. SRV, I guess.

From what I can tell, this is the entire KIOL playlist.
Have a look and see for yourself.

No Godsmack, Pantera, Disturbed, Zombie or anything active.
And on their website, they have Stained (Staind) spelled wrong!! Nice job guys!

You really rock, don't you?

[End vomiting and sarcasm.]

Re: Interesting note about the website...

I dont know about you all but anytime I listen I always hear something that I hadn't heard KLOL play in a VERY long while. Seems to me their playlist is rather broad considering what we were getting during CCs run of Rock 101.

Since noone else has jumped in and answered, Greg is the Chief Engineer for Cumulus-Beaumont as well as the transmitter engineer for 97.5/103.7 (Gawd help him if he has to take care of the studios in Houston as well...maybe thats why they are so small!) He also helps taking care of Lake Charles (the one engineer in LCH reciprocates with Greg in helping with stuff in BMT)
