Changes to WBOW-FM

Not only are their out of town dial global voice tracked jocks still calling it b102.7 but they don’t even know what they are playing. One said here are the Eagles over the intro of a Phil Collins song and then he did a back sell later in the same hour for Hall and Oats on the trail of Christina Aguilera.
And where is the local news? Aren’t they doing something with the paper?
The morning show sounds like a bunch of high school kids that managed to highjack the station. That’s what you get I guess when they have to volunteer their time.. I wouldn’t think that they would be getting paid for that disaster....

I will say that I am very entertained... I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time ;D

I think that Crossroads has lived up the expectations that just about everyone had for them... not much...

and the mystery format IS????????????????????????????????????? still a mystery.

As I predicted, this is a total disaster and they have lived up to their reputation. They also lied to everyone about live and local jocks all day long and local news. It doesn't exist.

did they say that they would have live local jocks and news all day on air? I haven't heard them promote that yet, but I did hear the voicetrack say the wrong song. Talk about a big waste. I knew I would be dissapointed, but I held some hope maybe they could do something right. I think they are a disgrace to the WBOW calls.

Amen about being a disgrace to the calls.. WBOW in the day was a station that had something to be proud of and was our version of WLS or WCFL and as almost as good ... instead they are now Terre Hautes version of WKRP.. :'(

If BOW is Terre Haute's version of KRP, which one on the morning show is Les Nessman and when is the big turkey giveaway? P.S. BOW was off the air all night after Delilah Friday night, what a debut.

If I had to divvy out names from WKRP, I'd have to say that Adam is Les Nessman, Doug is Johnny Fever, and Julie is Venus Flytrap. As for the turkey giveaway, given what terrible promotions Crossroads has done in the past, I would strongly recommend a very sturdy umbrella this Thanksgiving.

Someone tell me when they shut it down. It hurts me to hear something done so poorly. To anyone out there that is looking to flip a station...please me it Rock next time. We are all still waiting for another ZZQ to come back to the market. (well maybe not everyone...but I am)

Which version of ZZQ... the original AOR ZZQ, or the Final days as a CHR ROCK-Mod AC or whatever the heck they were.

I think the clock is ticking and this is their last ditch effort. I couldn't stand the morning show Friday, they should stick with the dial global network. Adam isn't a morning personality, to his credit he's very good at production. Julie is Julie, besides the morning show you also hear her do the weather on all Crossroads stations and several commercial spots. Way too much Julie. Who are they targeting? It's like 3 different radio stations, I'm confused! This morning they were airing Fox All Access which was playing Phinger Eleven etc. Also got to hear the 8am hour repeated at 9am. When I worked in radio people didn't get a 2nd or 3rd chance, if you didn't produce you were out the door! Crossroads appears to be radio rehab.

it is a SAD waste of their "HERITAGE" NOT to use it in the was they've brought back the WLS_FM calls to do 60'-70's classic hits in Chicago.

i guess you missed the days when wbow had ratings, and the call letters stood for something, its all they've got and they blew it!

No, I meant "what?!" as "what exactly were you trying to say?" not "you must be crazy." I didn't understand your post.

Seems a lot of listeners are disappointed that throw back Thursdays was dumped. Wonder why Crossroads didn't recognize the popularity of this show and build a format around that and run 24/7?

ok, i'll try it again... IF wbow played the hits from the 70's & 80's again(like they did in the day) when they were hot, they would be a winner with "Classic Hits" today. plus the format would have a decent signal for it in the area. HERITAGE.

So I figured it's been a week with the new morning show, so I figured I would give it a re-listen. I just got a 7 minute segment about ****** and feminine hygiene and a bunch of toilet talk about dropping a deuce. Yeah I'm sure females and adults 25-54 are loving that. The music is still all over the place, Adam and Doug don't sound too bad, but Julie is waaaay too over the top. Other than Delilah, is this station worth listening to?

. Other than Delilah, is this station worth listening to?
If you're holding on to "Delilah" as a reason to listen to this station, well... they've got huge problems.

You see the (radio) world through your cynical eye,
You're a troubled young (programmer) I can tell... :'(
You got it all in the palm of your hand,
But your hand's wet with sweat,
And your head needs a rest...... :-\

And you're fooling yourself if you don't believe it! :-X
You're kidding yourself if you don't believe it! :p

Why must you be such an angry radio man, ???
When your future looks quite bright to me... ;D
And how can there be such a sinister plan,
That could hide such a lamb,
Such a caring program man?.. ???

And you're fooling yourself if you don't believe it! :-X
Fooling yourself...
You're kidding yourself if you don't believe it! :p
Kidding yourself...

Get up, get up, get the station back on the street,
Seems you're the one they can beat and you know it! :'(
Yeah, come on, come on, let's see what you've got,
Just take your best shot and don't blow it, whoa-o-oh! 8)

(Forgive me Tommy Shaw and Styx for my free 'pun-liberty' with the lyrics!)
