Changes To Website

Any chance or a style picker at some point. If people want a darker color site they can choose that. Or have the option to keep the default.

I'm not sure whether that is an option. I'm still exploring and learning the Admin area of the website software. There is a ton to learn!

I have a feeling that might be an add on. There are plenty of expansion packs you can buy.
I've purchased the entire add-on pack. I don't want to add more to the website until David and I are both familiar and comfortable with the existing software.

Use the back (left) arrow on your browser to return to the previous page.
Frank,

No, not what I had in mind. In the site's previous format, after the last post on any page of a particular thread, there were links for both the previous and the next discussion. I didn't have to use the back arrow to get to the, say, Boston, index page because there was no need to.

We are all learning the new software and it's capabilities. When I open a thread, I generally right-click and "Open Link in New Tab." I can then close the tab when I'm finished and go back to the previous tab without clicking the back arrow.
The time limit gives the User a chance to correct spelling and other such errors. I believe that 60 minutes is more than enough time.

I like the site using the new forum software. I'm familiar with Zenforo as it's the gold standard of message board software now. Back in the 2000s it was vB. There are a lot of neat toys in both the front and back end of the board's software.

Justed wanted to say to Frank and David that the new website is great and this forum software is such and improvement. It feels much faster and makes using the site easier and more enjoyable. Great job!
All the credit goes to Frank who selected the new software and spent countless hours doing the transition. I just sat by and watched... and am now enjoying the benefits of a truly improved system.

To be honest I liked the old classic layout better because it just had an easier feel and was familiar to me. I get that this is a more modern look but maybe thats why i liked the other format because it was one of the few websites that reminded me of the old formats of forum and thread driven sites like reddit before they modernized the site layout.

The previous vBulletin software had end-of-life issues. Support for the software had ended. I understand that the new version of the vBulletin software has too many bugs to be reliable. From an administrative standpoint, this XenForo software is far easier to manage.

I like it, it loads superfast now. It is the same format of some of my other favorite forums so the change is not a big deal. Easy to navigate and the old posts are still here!

Wow, I just discovered I've been awarded five trophies just for showing up: First message, Somebody likes you, Keeps coming back, Can't Stop!, and Addicted. (This my first award for an addiction. 👏)

The new site looks great, but I've logged in today and I seem to be having issues with HUGE TEXT displaying in the forum posts and various other locations, especially on the forum home page - this wasn't there at the time of the initial upgrade. This is under Vivaldi browser, but I've also tried Firefox and the problem is the same.

I was seeing the issue very early this morning. I contacted the IT guys but the site returned to normal before they could do anything.
I have a feeling that it might be something related to the date change to 2021.
I may have been seeing the tablet/smartphone version of the website until I logged out and logged back in.

Thank you for checking this! I tried a second computer (which has never been on the site before, and doesn't have any ad-blockers or other extensions installed) and found the same problem there. For me, the large text seemed to coincide with the addition of the Happy New Year message at the top of the page.

Hopefully it will sort itself out soon :giggle:

Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the Happy New Year message and see if the text size returns to normal.
