In an orderly single file line, can anyone list the obvious changes at WKSC-FM, since Steve Perun took over?

2. New Website
3. Long overdue new logo
4. New positioner "Chicago's Hit Music" formerly "All Of Today's Hit Music" Can't really say "All" when there is a good 10 songs on the chart that they aren't playing.

*****3***** If you look closely, you'll notice that Perun is using the same font used for the KIIS-FM logo, but with a new twist for Chicago that no longer has the homogonized harmony amongst the plethora of national brand name KISS-FM logos...****... I just looked at it and it looks hipper and more streamlined, but yet VERY readable and clutter free from a distance.
______________

Some air personalities no longer trying to sound ghetto? LOL

Melle Mel brought in for live mixes every Thursday night? Perhaps signaling a greater street presence this summer?

By the way, I like the new fresher logo which stands out much better. It does look more like KIIS-FM Los Angeles. I really didn't like the globe logo (Kiss 103.5), which also didn't reflect their on-air positioning (103.5 KISS-FM).

I'm looking forward to a heated CHR war in Chi-town... It could make for something exciting on Chicago airwaves.

Honestly, though, how many listeners would actually notice that? "Hey, they can't say that because they don't play xxx song."

I don't disagree that the new positioner is better, but to say they couldn't say that is kind of nitpicking because nobody really cared. Only radio folk and/or enthusiasts

Not meaning to sound too pessimistic (well, maybe a little), but let's hope it makes for a "war", and not a pissing match like Zone vs. Q was. I'd never expect anything like the good ol' Z95/B96 battle, but if either station seriously stepped up their game and produced some good sounding, entertaining, quality radio programming - that would be great for Chicago.

EXACTLY. Nothing but better could come out of this for Chicagoland listeners. Both will improve their game to try to top each other. Let the battle begin.
______________

I am 100% certain that Perun had absolutely nothing to do with the logo or the website.

And that person is a VP of Marketing, not a consultant. A consultant cannot not mess with corporate identity. Not even Steve Perun.

He is the acting PD. Thus, from my relationships with program directors, he would have a say in, not only what comes out of the speakers, but also in what he would like to promote out of them. He is responsible for the product as a whole. Thus, I'm not saying you're wrong. There could be different things that PDs are responsible for, depending on the organization or station in question.

Being a man of power within the Clear Channel organization, especially as PD at KIIS-FM, the legendary Steve Perun, could have such power. He is VERY HIGHLY REGARDED amongst the Clear Channel brass and others in the industry.
______________

I second what you said. Perfectly said too!
