A long-time Sacramento morning show is about to end. It'll be announced this week. Sorry, I can't say who, but maybe I can lay odds and take your bets.

Long running Sacramento morning shows, in no particular order:

KGBY-92.5: Paul & Phil
KSEG-96.9: Mark & Brian
KRXQ-98.5: Rob, Arnie & Dawn
KDND-107.9: The Morning Rave
KNCI-105.1: Pat & Tom
KZZO-100.5: Shawn & Jeff
KHTK-1140: The Rise Guys
KSTE-650: Armstrong & Getty

Can't think of any others that have run that long. Won't be The Rise Guys; they just re-signed most of the cast and added F.P. Santangelo; Shouldn't be KSTE, KNCI or KRXQ's shows just because they've been performing well...

A rejoinder

Shouldn't be KSTE, KNCI or KRXQ's shows just because they've been performing well...

Peformance is not the issue (though your list is a useful reference).

I know. Radio seldom makes decisions these days for the RIGHT reasons. But we can always hope, right?

I'll go with the least obvious and hope for the best... Paul and Phil?
______________
If you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything...

I am hoping it is "MARK AND BRIAN". I am a Classic Rock fan and I would prefer a Music Intensive Morning Show with Less Talk, but with my luck if KSEG-96.9 does drop "MARK AND BRIAN", they would probably replace them with the even worst talk of "BOB AND TOM".

Please be Pat and Tom or Paul and Phil.
Mark and Brian fill the entertainment void that all the others lack.

Won't be Pat & Tom. KNCI is still strong and that show has been top-10 for years. Plus, they're in very well with management.

Here goes...

Paul & Phil are gone... KGBY goes 24/7 Christmas with no jocks and after the new year they launch as classic country Garth 92.5! The calls work kGBy. OK well it COULD happen. Even though the G-man is done.

hehe that was fun!

OK, I give up...
If someone out there knows something, post it. Let's see if you're right.
