Changing my view on News 92?

After I just heard they're the station that will give extensive coverage of the GOP elections.

Congrats, News 92, you just lost a preset off my radio.

I don't think News 92 is giving extensive coverage of the GOP elections because they're biased. Think about it -- with President Obama running unopposed on the Democratic side, the Republicans are the only ones holding any meaningful nominating contests this year. I'm sure News 92 would give just as extensive coverage of the Democratic elections had they had the non-incumbent.

Agreed, that's a bit harsh since every major network and cable channel and newspaper cover the events as well. New 92 FM has gone out of their way to live up to their 0% spin moniker by interviewing folks on both sides of the fence regarding just about every controversial issue they cover. A contested election primary is a news event which most of the time lends itself to voter and outcome analysis...a 3-hour opinionated talk show is not news.

I also noticed the new Billboards for 92 News has the Text "Aligned Right" so I guess that means they now lean to the right.

In all seriousness, it’s difficult to over-come people’s perceptions. Once they think you are something (right wing, liberal, Top 40, Oldies) it is almost impossible to get them to change their mind. No wonder so many PD’s rely on alcohol to get them through the day.

Ive even heard music formats classified as left leaning or right leaning. Its generally said active rock station listeners lean right and alternative rock listeners lean left, but i dont know about that one.

The GOP presidential primaries and caucuses are the only thing interesting in politics at the moment. We all know who the Democrats will nominate.

There has been absolutely no buzz surrounding various Texas state and federal races. Quick: who's running for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate from Texas? Uh-huh. ::)

And Texas isn't even sure of the date of the primary, with all the redistricting haggling, which is probably a more important story right now.

There will be more diversity in political coverage once we get closer to November.

I am currently managing a newsroom and while I understand your initial reaction, the comments others have made are correct. The primary races are all, basically G.O.P. races. We are covering political stories regarding President Obama and will cover the general election in earnest but right now, it's all G.O.P. pretty much and that is not something we created. It's just the way it is.

Even MSNBC's daily coverage revolves around the GOP primaries right now, and they're hardly a conservative news network.

Thanks for outing yourself as a left winger. Maybe if Hillary challenged Barack you'd cover that???

We're "the station that will give extensive coverage of the Democratic elections"???

Good luck with that. Feel free to leave your political bias at home and find an intellect to bring to the party. Otherwise, back off and allow the adults to cover the election.

They're doing that you know...
