Channel 105: Brokered Hits?

I actually tuned to Channel 105 this morning. It’s not the Party 105 that I loved to listen to, but the the programming of the station has been pretty good for my own personal taste. I was surprised to find brokered programming. At 8:30 we got to hear about green tea, and at 9, that all time Sunday morning favorite, Fish Oil.

I completely support a radio station’s need to be profitable, and I am a realist, but I found it a bit disingenuous to hear 30 minute blocks of paid advertising on a station that just shot all of its on air talent and its format to move to this IPOD/Satellite type format. I have no idea what Channel 107 was doing, since I can't hear them, and Channel 98 was true to its format.

My best guess: These programs paid in advance for airing and TMO would be contractually bound to air them.
