Channel 13 TV Commercial Programming in the 1960s.

I am very interested in knowing if there's a website that might have Channel 13 programming when they were a commercial TV Station back in the early 1960s. I'm not sure what their call letters were then. Any info. About this TV Station would be most helpful. If anyone know's what programs aired on Channel 13 when they were commercial TV I would like sure appreciate hearing about it.

I assume you're referring to WNET 13 Newark/NYC, as opposed to WHAM 13 Rochester and WNYT 13 Albany, which are commercial stations?I don't have anything specific for you, but you could search under their former calls WATV (1948-1958) and WNTA (1958-1962). They became an educational station in 1962 as WNDT and changed calls to the current WNET in 1970.

Thanks I am referring to the New York City-New Jersey TV Station...I did mean to post at NYC TV station first...I later found it...Thanks for the info. Dave...

Believe it or not, eventhough WNET/Thirteen is being operated non-commercially, the station still holds a commercial license. That was never changed. In fact, WNET could conceivably switch to commercial operation with nothing more than an e-mail to the Commission. I highly DOUBT that they would do such a thing. It's quite a viable pub-caster. But you just never know.
