Channel 2 after Oprah

With Oprah announcing that she is leaving broadcast tv to be cable only, channel 2 has a big hole to fill in their schedule in the fall of 2011. For over 20 years Oprah has occupied the 4pm slot on channel 2 (it debuted on the schedulte at 9am before moving to 4p). My assumption is that channel 2 will replace Oprah with another hour of news. I guess we will have to wait for 2011 to find out.

Unless someone in syndication land finds a blockbuster host we
don't know about yet (don't put your money on it), I'm thinking
the same thing; Ch. 2 airs a third hour of news from 4 to 5.

BTW, didn't Oprah air on a day-behind basis when she was on in
the mornings there? I remember some stations airing her live at
10 AM (ET) but Ch. 2 was not one of them.

Are there enough apartment fires in the ATL for Channel 2 to fill another hour?
In the five years I've lived here in Atlanta, there's a good possibility. Also, they'll be giving CBS Atlanta (WGCL) a run for their money in the 4 P.M. time slot.

Prediction: if WSB and WGCL end up going head-to-head
at 4 it won't even be a contest, even if "Y&R" is still the
lead-in to WGCL's news. As someone else likes to say,
WSB is an "800-pound gorilla."
