Channel 2 coverage of Titans-Lions on Thanksgiving

I happened to notice this and it bothered me quite a bit.

Before the kickoff of the Detroit-Tennessee game, CBS announced that Michelle Williams would sing the national anthem. She sounded great.

At the very second Michelle sang 'and the rocket's red glare', CBS (at least WCBS in New York) cut away to a commerical. The same GM commercial that I had seen less than ten minutes prior.

Couldn't they wait 30 seconds for her to finish singing the anthem before they went to commerical?

Was this planned or was it a technical glitch?

At any rate, what a disappointment.
