Channel 3 - Houston

I rescanned my box yesterday and came across this little newbie. ID'ed as KATC at 3.1, it has no signal as of yet. Any info? Is this new, or am I just picking it up for the first time?

KATC is the ABC station in Lafayette, La. Might have been pulling it in due to atmospheric conditions.

Hmm....well that's a first for me. I usually have problems picking up the weak "Houston" signals, amazing that the channel scan picked that up all the way from Lafayette. Thanks for the information, intx. I wish I would have been able to actually pick up the signal.

The unseasonably warm and muggy weather Houston had on Thursday probably was a big boost for tropo reception. The coastal path helps.

It's amazing what atmospheric conditions will bring in. Once I was flipping through the channels here in Phoenix, and came across NBC programming on channel 4 analog. NBC was on channel 4 in Tucson, and I was able to pull the signal in on occasion, so I assumed that's what it was, but I was surprised at how clear it was. Then they did a station ID. Instead of KVOA 4 Tucson, I was watching WOAI 4 San Antonio.

Just like one time I was able to pick up fox 29 here in houston Tx. I live in the heights!!!
