Channel 48 (Philadelphia?)

During the mid/late 1970s (circa 1975-1978), I used to watch reruns of
"Brady Bunch," "Emergency" and "Adam 12,"

Brief follow-up; the other show in that block was "The Monkees."

That would be the former WKBS in Philadelphia. They were on the air as an independent from 1965-1983, before going dark. Channel 48 signed back on in 1992 as independent WGTW, and was eventually bought by TBN in 2004.

Plus movies from the 30's and 40's such as Abbott & Costello, Blondie, Shirley temple, monster moves (Creature Double Feature/Creature Feature). From 1977-82 during the school year they double ran the Flintstones from 4-5 PM and Brady Bunch from 5-6 weekdays. They tended to rest Little Rascals during the school year and ran them in the summer.

They also got the rights to Alice, One Day At A Time, and Andy Griffith in 1982 that were rested for run in the Fall of 1983 but they would go dark at the end of teh SUmmer of 1983 and those shows never aired on the station. Also they had rights to Love Boat, Inspector Gadget, Fantasy Island, Heathcliff, Inspector Gadget, and Diff'rent Strokes as well once their runs in syndication could begin. The station was dark by the time these shows could air.

For schedules I did post some retro Philadelphia schedules at the end of 2004. So look at these to gtet an idea of what the station was like.
