Channel 49 and 53 Jackson off the air

Channel 53, which had been a Spanish TV station being run from Oklahoma, has been off the air for months (though the signal, albeit black, was still on until recently), and they, along with sister station channel 49 (which had been running Retro Jams) are completely off the air. 49 has been off the air for about three weeks or more. Given that the owners of these stations didn't really give a damn about them, I would be surprised if they came back on the air.

I was going to ask the same thing. it seems both stations were plagued with sattelite problems. and changed formats about every 3 months. Whatever happened to channel 8 simucast? The FCC webcast list a CP for a new UHF by Equity also.

While we're at it, what is the status of these stations. Some are licensed but have never seen some of them.
From the FCC:
WBXK-8-Used to have a good signal when it was "the box" most recently a simulcast of channel 49. Haven't seen it in a while.
WJMF-LP-19-construction permit, 120kw. same call letters as channel 53.
W23BC-23-Jackson State. Used to pick up weak signal-still listed on the TV page of the paper.
WJKO-43-construction permit 50kw.
W46CW-46-Brandon/Jackson. Licensed. I live near Brandon and have never picked it up. If its on the air what is it?
WWJX-51-full power CP
WJKO-64-5.2kw, Used to pick this one up clear years ago when it was Trinity TBN. Haven't seen this one in ages.

Are any of these stations actually on the air? If not when? some have had CP's for years.

Another interesting thing I found is that WUFX 35 has a CP to move to channel 41. Which is actually where the digital broadcast is coming from already since they are piggybacking off of WDBD which is also on 41. So that must mean WDBD is moving back to channel 40 and WUFX is taking over channel 41. So does that mean that channel 35 will now become vacant? I was under the impression that WUFX would "flash cut" to digital and stay on 35. Suits me fine. I won't have to turn my antenna towards Vicksburg to get it anymore.
