Channel 5 Boston Weather

Noticed that A.J. Burnett, formerly a meteorologist on Fox 25, is doing storm coverage on Channel 5. Wondering if he is the permanent replacement for David Brown. Or is this an on air audition? Or is he just here when there are storms. Noticed Ch. 5 add Mich Michaels during the last storm but haven't seen her since.

Mike is definitely first-class all the way, both in substance and style. He was the chief/lead meteorologist for WLVI-Channel 56 before the owners of WHDH bought the station and eliminated their news department in December of 2006. I was glad when he resurfaced a while later at WCVB. It was quite a shame about the shut-down of the WLVI news department. Their 10 PM news was excellent.

Does Mich Michaels work for anyone full time? She was always very popular as I remember it.
 
I couldn't agree more. I always preferred the channel 56 news. Karen Marinella was the best anchor and Mike Wankum the best weather guy. They never over-hyped the news and their on-air staff really had a lot of chemistry. I still miss them all.

A.J. has posted on his FB page that he is filling in on Channel 5 and hopes to be hired as David Brown's replacement. He was also filling in on NECN and WMUR.
 
A.J. Burnett posted on FB and Twitter that he did not get the job at WCVB and will be free-lancing at WMUR and NECN.
