What's up with channel 5? Most mornings the Today show comes on and ch.5 doesn't have the little time / temp graphic in the box on the lower right.
Are they just asleep at the wheel or what?
Interestingly, when they do have it in there, many times it does not correspond with the temperature they mention live.

This seems to be rampant on ch.8 as well during all their live newscasts. Speaking of Ch.8 what has gone on with their feed from ABC. For the past several days there is a blank video glitch lasting 3 seconds in their prime time programming. I have a regular indoor antenna so its not cable or satellite.
 
I noticed this same thing also (with a regular Rabbit Ear Antenna), but I passed it off to a bad VHS tape (yes I still use one of those...I am an oldtimer, I refuse to pay to record my favorite tv shows). I remember seeing it last week (during Desperate Housewives/Grey's Anatomy), then switched VHS tapes and it still happened again this week with the same shows. I will be on the lookout during Boston Legal on Tuesday night. I watch with Closed Captioning on, and that too is missing, I am assuming that is related to the same issue?

NBC uses a signal in the vertical interval to control when the time/temp bug comes up. For whatever reason, they usually don't do it during the news segments at the top of the hour.

The temperature on the bug comes from a thermometer on the building. The temp they mention during weathercasts is the top of the hour temp at DFW. That's the reason for the discrep.
